Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Layla is a shy, gentle dog who will need a patient family willing to earn her trust and work with her at her own pace. She would thrive with another small dog in the home and needs a securely fenced yard to explore safely. Layla is good with cats but is not recommended for a home with young children. With time, love, and consistency, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. REQUIREMENTS: Another small dog,  Fenced Yard Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Quinn is a fast-moving, goofy, tiger- stripped lovebug with just enough spice to keep life fun at full throttle. She gets along with other dogs, but would love to be your one and only! She brings the comedy and fun wherever she goes and is always ready for whatever is next on the agenda. She can stand on her cute little muscled up hind legs and walk like her humans for her favorite treats. She is a little athlete, ready to chase and frolock with anyone up to her challenge. She delights in giving kisses and ear washes. This cutie is a pro on leash walks and is pretty good with her house training. She loves children and will be most happy to be their bed partner to keep away the monsters. She is a mighty 19 pound little firecracker just waiting on her perfect family to scoop her up! We estimate she is about 2 years old. Her adoption fee is $399 and if she requires transport from her foster home in WEst TN there will be an additional $200 fee. She will be ready by the 3rd weekend of March once her vetting is complete. If you are interested in adopting please submit the application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFRR/Dog

Story
Hi, I am Adalyn! I am a 5 year old female Boston terrier. I am sweet and I love affection, but I am very shy and hesitant with new people. It takes time for me to warm up when I meet someone, and even once I know them I can tend to startle easily. I love to snuggle with my foster mom on the couch and I follow her everywhere she goes. I’m a toy fanatic and will chew any toy and chase any ball! I also love to wrestle with my foster siblings. I would do best in a home with a confident dog to help me feel safe. I am not a big fan of the cats or small pets in my foster home - they are too fun when I chase them! I take medication daily to help with my anxiety. I’ve come a long way since I came to the rescue, and my medicine has made a big difference. I have a heart murmur that is stable and currently requires no treatment or special care. I am looking for a loving, patient, calm home with a dog companion. I would do best with adults only in the home, who can understand that sometimes I am a nervous nelly. Adalyn is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative, and up to date on flea/worm preventions. She is being fostered in southern lancaster county and interested adopters must be willing to come to her foster home to meet her. Please apply online at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Loon is a 3 year old English Bulldog who was surrendered from a commercial breeder. She is loving the life of a house dog and is ready to find her furever home. Loon is spayed, microchipped and UTD on shots/vaccines. Loon’s requests are as follows: Her person/s must be a stage 1 clinger - Loon loves a velcro human. Understand that she gives baths a rating of 0/10- would not recommend. Enjoys taking her person for walks so she can wiggle her butt and greet everyone she meets! Loon’s humans passed along this report card for her: Cuddling: A++ Comments: She takes her job seriously, says there is nothing that can keep her from being close to you. Crate: A- Comments: She isn’t in love with her crate but she is crate trained and is fine being in there. Sometimes, she just needs encouragement. Potty: B+ Comments: Loon started out at a D but has quickly been able to raise her grade by learning to use the pee pad and also that outside is where she should go to the bathroom. She is working on letting her people know when she needs to go outside. *Special Note: Loon would like to make it very clear that unlike her namesake, she is by no means a “stupid Canadian wolf bird”. Loon is actually very smart and is quickly picking up how to sit! In case it wasn’t already obvious, she is an English bulldog (neither Canadian nor a wolf or a bird)!
