Story
Alia is an absolute charmer, everyone who meets her loves her. She is a Sweet and spunky 10-year-old Pug, who came to the rescue as a stray. Her round head, and wrinkled brow, go well with her soft and cuddly fur coat. She requires minimal maintenance but does shed. Alia did have all but 4 teeth removed, she will require soft food for the rest of her life. Alia thrives on human companionship; she loves nothing more than a good cuddle and we are happy to oblige as we don't think she has much in the past. She loves her humans and is like Velcro to her foster there are no hiding spaces from her. She does well on a leash and loves to go for car rides. Alia is no different than other pugs, in that they do not do well in warm, humid or colder temperatures, as they have such short nasal passages. They tend to experience breathing problems. It is important that Alia receives daily opportunities for moderate exercise, such as walks or play sessions in the yard to keep her fit and not get over weight. While Alia has become very confident in our home, she still is fearful of loud noises. Alia is content with a familiar routine, so she knows what to expect. She does well with her 3 other foster fur siblings and children. However, we do feel that she will need time to decompress and needs slow introductions to other dogs when she goes to her furever home. A laid back dog or her as an only dog would be an ideal setting. Alia is potty trained, but doesn't ask to go outside, If she is taken out on a regular basis, she will go to the bathroom outside. Alia will go into a crate, but she is not happy if she can still see you, and she doesn't hesitate to let you know its not where she wants to be. Alia is UTD on vaccines, chipped, spayed and ready to find her furever home. Please visit www.zoeshouserescue.com to apply

Story
Greetings from me, Gus! I’m a 35-pound, 3-year-old male puggle, which is an awesome mix between a pug and a beagle. I absolutely loveeee people, especially when they give me belly rubs! My foster mom says that I am very sweet and well-behaved. I love playing with stuffed toys, enjoy car rides, and love going on walks. I'm smart too--I know sit and paw! I'm a good boy when left home alone and in my crate at night. I prefer to be an only pet, so I’ll pass on any fur siblings in the home, if you don’t mind. Because I don't enjoy meeting other dogs, I'd prefer to live in a quiet, uncongested neighborhood so that when I go out on walks (my favorite!!!) I don't get distracted by other dogs or lots of traffic. Walks are my special time and I want to be able to enjoy them! Do you think your home could be the right home for me? If so, head on over to lvpeaceablekingdom.info to apply for me today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 31, 2023, 5:06 pm

Story
Hello there - My name is Payton, or Payton Marie as my foster mom calls me. She says I needed a middle name since I like to get into a little mischief, although I have no idea what she is talking about. I am a 2-3 year old English Bulldog and spent the first few years of life having babies, but I have put that behind me now. I am enjoying spending time at my foster home and love to go for walks, chew on bones, explore the yard and sleep but mostly I like to EAT! I didn't get much food where I was living previously so I'm working on bulking up, I am currently about 30 lbs of energy. I can be shy when first meeting new people, but don't worry it doesn't take me long to warm up. I am currently living with my sister bulldog and a few other foster dogs of different breeds. I very much enjoy my bulldog sister but am a bit more picky with my other foster sisters. I would be willing to meet other dogs and give them a chance at becoming my friend. My foster mom says I am a typical "Bull"dog because I like to use my head to try to "bull" my way thru any obstacle, but really I'm just having fun. When I am not eating or chewing on my bones I mostly enjoy a few long naps during the day. I do sleep in a crate at night and I don't mind that at all. I also do very well with going to the bathroom outside, however it may take me some time to get used to a new environment. I am UTD on shots, microchipped and spayed and ready to look for my furever home. I have met a few kids and have no issues with them at all. If you want to meet me and see what I'm all about please apply. I am currently living in Reading, PA., and a meet and greet with all family members and any resident dogs would be required.
