Hi, I am Adalyn! I am a 5 year old female Boston terrier. I am sweet and I love affection, but I am very shy and hesitant with new people. It takes time for me to warm up when I meet someone, and even once I know them I can tend to startle easily. I love to snuggle with my foster mom on the couch and I follow her everywhere she goes. I’m a toy fanatic and will chew any toy and chase any ball! I also love to wrestle with my foster siblings. I would do best in a home with a confident dog to help me feel safe. I am not a big fan of the cats or small pets in my foster home - they are too fun when I chase them! I take medication daily to help with my anxiety. I’ve come a long way since I came to the rescue, and my medicine has made a big difference. I have a heart murmur that is stable and currently requires no treatment or special care. I am looking for a loving, patient, calm home with a dog companion. I would do best with adults only in the home, who can understand that sometimes I am a nervous nelly. Adalyn is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative, and up to date on flea/worm preventions. Meet Jax Jax is an almost 2‑year‑old Boston Terrier weighing 34 lbs, and he has grown into an absolute joy of a dog. His journey hasn’t been a straight line, but it has shown us just how resilient and wonderful he truly is. Jax originally came to us from a commercial breeder in Lancaster after growing larger than the breeder wanted. He was later adopted, but after five months was sadly surrendered again due to reports of nipping. Shortly after returning to rescue, Jax experienced a medical emergency and suffered a prolapse that required urgent surgery. He handled it like a champ and has since made a full recovery. During his recovery, Jax has been living in foster care with one of our trusted volunteers and dog trainers, and the feedback has been nothing short of glowing. His foster reports that Jax is perfect. He has been doing fantastic in the home, is crate trained and house trained, and has shown excellent manners and stability. He has been very comfortable and well‑behaved with her children, including her youngest, who is 7 years old. His trainer / foster could not be happier with how well he is doing. Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. She has plenty of energy and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys getting out for daily walks or even running or a home that has has a playful dog who can keep up with her. She’s a silly, joyful little dog who brings a lot of fun wherever she goes. She enjoys chewing on bones and toys and will happily claim any she finds—sometimes even borrowing them from her foster sisters.
