Story
Imagine being just six weeks old, living outdoors in a rural community during freezing winter temperatures—surrounded by ten other dogs, competing for food, warmth, and survival. That was Link’s beginning. It’s a heartbreaking start, but it’s only one small chapter of his story. Link came into care with Megan's Rescue in the dead of winter—tiny, unsure, and still learning that the world could be kind. Since then, he has done nothing but grow. Now a young adult, Link is patiently waiting for the family he’s always deserved. Link is a happy, gentle soul with a playful streak. He adores his toys and has a special love for carrying sticks along on his adventures. He travels wonderfully in the car, is house trained, and crate trained—making him an easy companion to welcome into a home. He does well with other dogs, though he can show some resource-guarding tendencies, so continued guidance and structure will help him thrive. Because of his rough start, Link isn’t 100% confident in every situation yet—but he is eager to learn, eager to please, and highly food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both of you. Above all else, Link loves people. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he’s by your side, building trust and soaking up love. Link has survived his hardest days. Now he’s ready for his best ones—could that be with you? 🐾

Story
German Shepherd, 22 months – Seeking Experienced Home Sweet, affectionate 22-month-old German Shepherd looking for the right home. She is gentle with our kids but is very boisterous, and forms strong bonds. Fully house-trained and crate-trained. She has a sensitive stomach, so diet needs consistency to avoid gastrointestinal upset. She is reactive to other dogs and currently wears a muzzle on walks, so she requires an experienced, confident handler willing to continue training. She can be destructive if left unsupervised and does best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Smart and loving, but needs structure, boundaries, and attention. Will steal food if given the chance. Best suited to an experienced owner, preferably breed experienced, in a pet-free home and ideally child-feee home. In the right environment, she will be a loyal and rewarding companion.

Story
Meet Muskwa, a big, bouncy adolescent pup whose name means `bear` in Cree! This Husky Shepherd mix is full of energy and is looking for an active home that can keep both his body and brain busy. Enrichment, exercise, and tons of rewards will help him continue to grow into the most wonderful dog!Like many young pups, Muskwa is still learning his manners, especially keeping “four on the floor” and using more polite ways to communicate than his mouth. He’s working on bite inhibition and will need adopters committed to positive reinforcement and redirection as he grows into his best self. He is very treat and toy motivated, so make sure your treat pouch and ball collection never run dry!Muskwa has lived with children before, but due to his size and excitement, he’d do best with older kids. He has also successfully lived with a cat and may do well with another dog, as he’s had positive social experiences with them in the past. He can be a bit wary of new people and touch at first, especially with men, but will quickly lean in for full-body pets and brushing. Muskwa is eager to please and eager to learn, but just needs some help getting there! We do know that he’s good in the car, sleeps well through the night, knows a few basic commands and did great with house training in his former foster home, and will have more skills down pat in no time! If you are open to sharing your home and heart with a big, goofy teddy bear, Muskwa might be your guy!Muskwa is:- open to older kids- open to cats, slow intros required- open to dogs pending successful intro

Story
**Astro is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Explore the universe... with Astro by your side! This big, goofy, handsome boy is an active, loyal adventurer looking to be the center of your solar system! While he might not take you as far as the moon, Astro does think walks are the best part of the day, and is eager to go on lots of big adventures with you. With a brain the size of Saturn, Astro thrives on mental enrichment and daily training. He enjoys chasing balls and food enrichment like kong toys. This loving, loyal pup also adores belly rubs and snuggles with friends. He is cautious of new people, so benefits from lots of patience and respect for his body language as he settles in. Astro will do best with older kids or adults, because he doesn`t always realize how big he is. He loves attention, but sometimes his attempts to get some cuddles can feel as chaotic as the storms in Jupiter`s red spot! He`s also still learning not to taste-test every exciting thing he finds on walks, and will benefit from continued training in that area. Astro will thrive in a family with older kids or adults who has experience with high energy breeds. He`s already crate-trained and house-trained, and ready to shine as bright as Sirius (the dog star!) in his forever family!A bit about Astro:- older kids (10+) recommended- has lived with cats; confident, dog-savvy cats recommended due to chase behaviour- dogs okay pending successful introduction
