Please contact Jim at 410-441-0866 (jim@fur-everpaws.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Elkton, MD. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 410-441-0866 (text or call) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). &#226&#128&#139 October 3, 2023, 7:44 pm

Story
ABOUT BLU This bouncy, sweet girl is a 3 year old German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute mix breed. Blu came to HAP when her previous owners thought she could use a fresh start in a home without other dogs. Blu was raised with other dogs and many cats. Despite proper training and socialization, Blu showed little interest in dogs, even as a puppy. She is not interested in play and prefers a lot of space with other dogs. However, she did very well with multiple cats in the home! Blu's previous owners did a lot of training with her and she has proven to be one smart cookie. She knows nearly a dozen commands, including 'sit', 'shake', 'lay down', 'stay', 'come', 'spin', 'through legs', 'by my side', and many more! She is very eager to please people, so the training possibilities are truly endless with her. Blu is also house-trained, crate-trained, muzzle-trained, and leash-trained! She absolutely LOVES having her crate and blankies. When she's not rolled over on someone's feet, you can usually find her zooming around our fenced fields or playing with a toy. Blu would do fantastic in a home with active adults or older kids who can give her all the affection and exercise she wants! **Blu cannot live with dogs, she has done very well with cats! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Looking for a high energy dog who will bond closely to you? Then Luna is your girl! Luna was rescued from our local shelter. She is a three year old German Shepherd mix. Luna has a lot of energy and can be timid with new people. However, once you gain her trust, she makes an awesome companion who never leaves your side. She is one of those dogs that once she bonds with you, she will look up at you with her big brown eyes and you can just tell how much she loves you! Pros - loyal once bonded, fun, crate trained, pretty girl, would alert you to intruders, protective of children (recommend 5+), loves to play, loves water (been in smaller pools), high energy Cons - High energy (if you are looking for a lazy couch potato, this is not the dog for you), takes time and patience to adjust to new home (more hesitant around men), will bark at her surroundings and new people she is not familiar with Comes with essentials - leash, collar, crate, food, bone Reach out for more details/meet up!
