Story
Meet Microwave!Microwave is a 24-week-old, approximately 25-pound bundle of puppy joy who deserves a fresh start outside the shelter walls. This playful little guy has spent 7 long weeks growing up in the shelter—far too long for such a young pup who should be learning, exploring, and bonding with a family of his own.Despite his rough start, Microwave is all wiggles, fun, and enthusiasm. He’s a playful puppy who loves toys, loves attention, and is eager to learn about the world with someone who will guide him. His cheerful energy and sweet nature make him impossible not to fall in love with.Microwave is more than ready to trade kennel life for a cozy home, soft bed, and a person to call his own. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic puppy who will brighten your days, Microwave is waiting to warm your heart. 🐾💙Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Story
🐾 Mika – The Comeback Queen🐾 This 2-year-old German Shepherd survived being hit by a car, had surgery to save her legs, AND beat heartworm treatment! Through it all, her spirit never wavered — she’s smart, resilient, and full of potential. Mika’s intelligence and eager-to-please nature give her all the makings of an incredible service or working dog. We’d love to find her a forever home that can keep her mind and body engaged — and if you know of a program that could evaluate her for service dog training, we’re all ears! She’s: ✨2 years old and 45 pounds ✨ Dog-friendly and enjoys playtime ✨ Good with kids — gentle and patient ✨ Cat curious- may chase, but gentle ✨ Very smart and high trainability ✨ Full of potential for advanced training or service work ✨ Loving & loyal— once she bonds, she’s your best friend She’s still working on potty training and isn’t the biggest crate fan, so her perfect match will be someone patient and consistent who can help her polish those skills. If you’ve been looking for a brilliant, devoted companion — or know a program that might be her gateway into service work — Mika is ready for the next chapter of her amazing journey. 💛 📩 Message us to meet Mika or share this post to help her find her path!
