She can be very shy and unsure around new people, so we recommend several meet and greets to help build trust. But once Luna feels safe, she becomes a total sweetheart! She loves chasing balls and she has some great catching skills too! Belly rubs are another favorite of hers when she is feeling comfortable and relaxed. If you have the time and heart to help Luna come out of her shell, she’ll reward you with loyalty, love, and lots of playtime. Come visit her at the shelter and see if you’re the one she has been waiting for!Luna is two years old and weighs 83.5 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Story
Cashy Boy is an approximately 3 year old 55 lb.  tripod.  Having 3 legs has not slowed him down.  He loves nothing more than running—playing fetch and chase me. His favorite toy is a herding ball.  Check out his video.  Due to his looks and love for herding he may be an Australian Cattle dog.   A home with acreage or fenced in yard (only needs to be a short fence) where he can play is needed.  Cashy Boy is dog friendly with same size or larger female dogs. No small dogs as he has an exuberant style of playing.  Not sure on male dogs or cats.   Cashy Boy loves people but he is mouthy and resource guards his food bowl, therefore, no small children.  When you come home he will be the first to greet you trading pets and hugs for kisses.  He would prefer to sleep with you and he makes for a great snuggler but for a treat he will sleep in a kennel.   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Cashy Boy’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Sherman is a big love at 90 lbs and a rescue favorite! He is housebroken, easy going, loves walks, plays with toys and cuddles. He is an all-around great dog looking for a chill household to enjoy his golden years in. He would love a quiet home with no children and few visitors. As most GSD he has hip dysplasia in left hip and this has caused some right front leg arthritis but with his supplements and pain meds that doesn't stop him from having a good time. He currently is getting monthly injections for pain which is the cheaper route. He is good with dogs and ok with cats, sometimes will chase the cats in his foster home to smell them. He would do best with a chill submissive doggie friend in the home as he is older and has mild joint issues. He would be ok being an only dog as well. Poor Sherman was surrendered by family members when his mom got dementia and fell and hurt herself. He laid by her bed and was protective of her and the family felt it best to rehome him. His crime was loving her too much and being a German Shepherd!  If you can handle being loved that much, apply today! If you are interested in meeting Sherman, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Sherman ’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. Story
Meet Seren Sadie a medium sized girl with a beautiful reddish coat. She is dog friendly and would love to have a dog friend in her new home. Sadie has not been cat tested, so not sure how she would do with cats. SHe would do great with older considerate kids.   Sadie has medium energy. She likes being outside, but wants her person to be outside with her. Sadie also enjoys walks, and does walk well with a harness.   House and crate trained. She prefers being crated at night near her people. If you would allow her to sleep with you even better.   Sadie rides quietly in the car. Sadie does have some stranger danger, and is leery around new people at first. She does best when visitors just ignore her and let her come to them on her terms. She does bark at new people and sounds, so may not do well in a apartment setting    Sadie is a really sweet dog but needs someone who will be patient with her and give her time to trust her new family. Once Sadie is comfortable with you, she will be your shadow. She is not much of a snugglier, but does like to be near you. Sadie really likes chicken as a treat, which can be used to build trust. With time and treats Sadie will be the perfect companion!     If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
