Story
Meet Stella! This bright, outgoing girl has so much love and talent to offer. She’s incredibly sweet, fully housetrained, and impressively smart — she knows more than basic commands and can even walk confidently on a treadmill! Stella loves enrichment activities and would make a fantastic working dog or adventure companion for someone who enjoys keeping a clever pup engaged. Stella gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having friends, though any home with an existing pet will need slow introductions and a few meet-and-greets to make sure everyone is a good match. Once Stella knows her people, she becomes deeply loyal and protective, so she’ll thrive best in an adult-only home with someone who understands and appreciates her guardian nature. Playful and energetic, she’s always ready for walks, training sessions, and mental challenges. With the right structure and guidance, Stella will blossom into an incredible partner who gives her whole heart to her person. Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, microchip, and additional treatments. If you’re looking for a smart, devoted dog who’s eager to learn and bond deeply, Stella might be the perfect fit — come meet her and see what a special girl she is!

Story
- Walks nicely on a leash - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Smart boy who knows sit, shake and down- Tends to avoid other dogs (dog intro required) This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. Click here for tips for making a comfortable life for senior pets. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Story
Meet Clover! This handsome almost 6-month-old, 60-pound German Shepherd mix is looking for his forever family. Clover was adopted as a young puppy but sadly returned when things didn’t work out with a small child in the home. True to his breed, Clover is energetic, athletic, and incredibly smart. He’ll thrive with structure, boundaries, and continued training. At the rescue, he’s shown a sweet and submissive side, and he gets along well with other dogs. He absolutely loves walks, playtime, and soaking up attention. We believe Clover is house trained, and with his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he’s sure to be a quick study in his new home. Because of his energy and shepherd nature, Clover would do best in a home with older children (if any) and a family ready to give him the guidance, activity, and love he needs to grow into his full potential.
