Story
Bear is a very sweet German Shepherd mix looking for her forever home. We met Bear through a family at school.  We volunteered to foster Bear until we can find her forever home. Bear is 2 and 1/2 years old.  We are unsure of her immunization status, however the vet confirmed she is not fixed. Bear is very sweet and calm, she takes treats very gently.  Bear is smart and easily trainable.  She responds well to positive reinforcement and praise.  We believe she could make a good therapy or service dog, due to her extremely calm demeanor.  Bear knows basic commands (sit, stay, leave it), is house trained, is excellent with kids and loves to go on walks. She responds excitedly to other dogs on walks, but we are not sure if she has been socialized appropriately.  She does fine with house cats.  For her new home, we would love for her to have a yard and owners who can provide her with the time and love she deserves.

Story
- Tends to avoid other dogs (dog intro required) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) - Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet homeThis pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 65 Age: 4yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet Tempe! Tempe and her siblings came to us in very rough shape, skinny little babies who needed a kind and understanding heart to show them that not all people are bad. Through lots of love and care (and plenty of kibble!) We were able to get all of her litter back into good shape, happy, and growing. Tempe herself is a great dog: very loving, friendly and energetic. She gets along well with people, children and other dogs. Could probably use some more exposure with cats. She's a water dog! She loves playing and drinking water, but she drinks on her own terms. Tempe has done really well at our local adoption events but is still looking for her forever family! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Bebe Looking for a gentle, shy, and oh-so-sweet pup to love? Bebe is your girl! This German Shepherd/Pitty mix has the perfect blend of brains, beauty, and heart. She's great with cats, dogs, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for a loving family. Though she's still learning the ropes of life like potty training and crate training, she shines brightest when she's playing with her siblings or soaking up head scratches and giving kisses. Bebe's story started when her brave mom, abandoned by her owner, found safety at her foster home to give birth. Dad has been faithfully by Mom's side for years, and together they've raised a litter of wonderful pups like Bebe. She may start off a little shy, but once she warms up, you'll see her fun side shine. Bebe loves to run and play with her siblings (she's the fastest of the bunch!) and will happily be your mellow cuddle buddy when it's time to rest. If you're looking for a pup who will adore you as much as you adore her, Bebe is waiting to meet you! Go ahead and submit an adoption application for her now! Favorite toy: Her siblings Best rub spot: Right between the eyes Hidden skill: Outrunning everyone at playtime! $250 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $550 Out of State Adoption Fee (includes transportation to your area)
