Story
River Monster LitterMeet Linus! Linus is 1 year old. This playful pup needs someone who is very active and willing to train him. He is high energy, but very smart! He needs a patient home to teach them the dos and don'ts of puppyhood ans one that can handle hos energy. If you would like to make Linus a part of your family, fill.out an application at www.barktownrescue.org. LINUS' ADOPTION FEE IS $170The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    April 18, 2024, 6:43 pm

Story
Meet Sam. A very loving and playful German Shepherd. Loves kisses, belly rubs and eats up all of the attention you give him. Very High energy and loves to bite at the water hose. Is a Houdini and will need a secure fence with lots of space to run. He is currently on an Invisible Fence and does very well with it. He is Dominant when he plays with other dogs. I am not sure how he is with children but absolutely no cats or livestock. Highly trainable. Missed his calling as a police dog as he is an excellent watch/guard dog but then transforms and becomes an 80lb lap dog. He needs someone who will train him religiously. Has all this potential and I hate to see it go to waste. No allergies that I know of and is UTD on all shots/vaccinations. He is Neutered and comes with paperwork. I am happy to answer any questions! The reason I am rehoming him is because he loves to chase our horses. My mother is 70 and I travel for work at least until March of next year.
