Story
Poppy is a 2-year-old female German Shepherd mix with a playful, loving personality and lots of energy. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, tug-of-war, fetch, walks, and car rides. Poppy is highly food motivated, eager to learn, extremely intelligent and already knows basic commands plus a few extras. She would thrive with an active owner who can continue giving her exercise, structure, and training.Poppy does well with children and women, and while she can be shy around men at first, she warms up with patience. She enjoys playing with both dogs and cats, but she has a history of resource guarding around food and treats and has shown aggression toward other animals in those situations. She has made significant progress through training and has never shown aggression toward people. For everyone’s safety and success, Poppy would do best as the only pet in the home or with an experienced owner committed to ongoing training.

Story
I got Duke from a coworker who breeds Belgian Shepherds and have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He turned 2 years old on June 12, 2026. Due to the breed of dog that he is, Duke needs lots of physical activity and exercise. He’s still a puppy in many ways and loves to play, has lots of energy, and loves being outside. A perfect home for him would be one where he can run a lot and be played with regularly. Duke is a gentle, sensitive dog, highly intelligent, and loves a job to do. He’d make an exceptional guard dog too.

Brandy is a young adult Shepherd Mix! She is a two year old, 50 pound female who is kind, friendly, affectionate, enjoys playing with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to most family makeups. She knows a series of commands from participating in the Paws Behind Bars - Luther Luckett Correctional Complex Dog Training Programsuch as "sit, down, stay, leave it, place and come." Loose leash walking is also a skill she now possesses. Brandy has gone from being a "throw away" to a lovely and fun companion pup! If you're looking for a walking partner, couch companion or just a simple best friend, Brandy could very well be what you're looking for! Story
Zoey is a beautiful sable German Shepherd female. Zoey was a stray and we unfortunately do not know her history but Zoey is happily looking forward to having a family of her own.    Zoey is a playful and rambunctious girl. Her favorite activities include playing in muddy ponds, getting all the love, and inappropriately barking at unknown dogs and people. Zoey is learning how to navigate the world and make new human friends. While Zoey can be a very friendly and social girl she is at a critical point in her life known as the 'fear period' and can struggle with reactivity when meeting new people. It is extremely important that Zoey have a confident, experienced, handler that can compassionately guide her through the safe socialization she needs in order to learn how to navigate the world kindly. Zoey is very much a puppy and while eager to please she is still figuring out what is expected of her and how to rise to those expectations. Zoey has been great meeting volunteers with the guidance of her foster home and with those she knows is a very loving, playful girl. She has enjoyed going on hikes around private property and exploring ponds and mud puddles. Zoey is an active and athletic girl who is going to require ongoing exercise and structure to ensure her growth into a well rounded adult Shepherd. Zoey would be a great running companion, hiking buddy, and would likely excel in a number of dog sports. Zoey is NOT suitable for a home with children at this time.    Zoey is still figuring out other dogs and how to interact in a polite manner. Zoey can be very vocal when she meets new dogs and was defensive with other dogs when she arrived at her foster home. She has since settled in and is able to enjoy playgroups with other young Shepherds as well as group hikes. Zoey is slowly figuring out that she can play appropriately and doing a great job. Zoey will require ongoing structured socialization and guidance to maintain her progress as she is at an age of development where her socialization both in and out of the house is vital. Zoey is NOT friendly with cats or small dogs as she has shown a very high prey drive with both.    Zoey is a young, eager to please, and outgoing Shepherd who is searching for an active, loving, and adventurous home to give her the guidance and love she needs to grow into an even more wonderful companion. Story
Lilith is a stunning female sable German Shepherd estimated around two years of age. She was found as a stray with her assumed brother, Bullet, before making her way to us.    Lilith is a smart, energetic, and eager to please with Girl Boss Energy. Lilith is enthusiastic in her greetings of new people and is turning into a very social butterfly. She is still learning how to contain herself for polite greetings but, hey, she doesn't body slam people anymore so that is a win! Lilith is just happy to be part of the activities and isn't too concerned with what said activities are - she will go on a hike, supervise your yard work, or couch rot for the evening as long as she is included.  Lilith has done well with other dogs and is pretty tolerant of big, silly male dogs likely thanks to her brother. Lilith has become a Play Yard superstar navigating other young rambunctious dogs with ease as well as respecting older, less playful dogs. Lilith can be a bit over the top meeting new dogs on leash - she drops right into play mode and hasn't yet figured out how to keep her cool for a slow meeting. Lilith is NOT recommended for a home with cats or small animals at this time.  Lilith is a smart girl who is looking for a home to call her own. If you're the home for her please email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 1, 2026, 1:18 pm
