Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None. Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Riley, is my son’s 8-year-old German Shepherd / Pit Bull Terrier mix with the biggest heart and strongest personality. She is funny, gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. She smiles when she’s happy, leans in for comfort, and bonds fiercely with her people.Riley was rescued two years ago by my son, he was informed that she was abused. Because of that trauma, she needs to be the only pet in a calm, stable home with someone patient and experienced. My son and her moved back home as he plans to leave for the army and we keep her and our dog separate at all times. This decision is heartbreaking, but she deserves peace, security, and the chance to truly thrive.Riley is incredibly loyal once she trusts you and will love her person with her whole soul. We are seeking a compassionate, responsible home where she can feel safe and cherished for the rest of her life.

Mom thinks I'm mixed with a Husky because I have one blue eye and one brown eye. I am all puppy, but already know some commands like sit, fetch and to come when called. I also have not had any accidents in the kennel. Weather it's playing fetch, exploring outside or playing tug I'm your guy. Kisses, I have you covered. I love to give anyone kisses who will let me. We got Bär (Bear) from the local humane society. He was found as a stray in the area with no chip and we believe no collar. We know nothing of his past prior to being picked up. Initially Bär was very wary of strangers, especially men, and had attempted to nip at two different men on separate occasions. He has calmed down significantly and no longer barks at every noise, but he is very protective of myself and the house. If he met a stranger away from the house, he is alert and cautious, but very friendly and open. When meeting a stranger at home, his behavior can range from full alert and aggressive barking to excited sniffing and hoping. Bär is easily excited and constantly needs to be in the middle of whatever is going on. He is very food motivated and did bite our daughter, we believe because he thought he was getting a treat and simply overreacted. His high energy is too much for our 3 cats but they all get along.
