Story
Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is  not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None.  Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   October 13, 2025, 5:13 pm

Story
Riley, is my son’s 8-year-old German Shepherd / Pit Bull Terrier mix with the biggest heart and strongest personality. She is funny, gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. She smiles when she’s happy, leans in for comfort, and bonds fiercely with her people.Riley was rescued two years ago by my son, he was informed that she was abused. Because of that trauma, she needs to be the only pet in a calm, stable home with someone patient and experienced. My son and her moved back home as he plans to leave for the army and we keep her and our dog separate at all times. This decision is heartbreaking, but she deserves peace, security, and the chance to truly thrive.Riley is incredibly loyal once she trusts you and will love her person with her whole soul. We are seeking a compassionate, responsible home where she can feel safe and cherished for the rest of her life.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Ludo, and I’m just a baby puppy with a very big heart.  I’m sweet, curious about the world, and extra fluffy—which makes me absolutely perfect for snuggles (I take this job very seriously). I love all things stuffed—stuffed toys, plushies, squeaky friends… if it’s soft, I’m probably carrying it around proudly. I also really enjoy hanging out with big dogs and learning how to be a good pup by watching them. I’m doing great in my kennel and I’m working hard on potty training—I’m learning more every day and trying my best to be a good boy. With a little patience and lots of love, I know I’ll get the hang of everything in no time! Mostly, I’m just looking for a forever family who will love me, play with me, cuddle me, and help me grow up to be the best dog I can be. If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy, snuggly puppy to join your family… I might be your guy! Love, Ludo  Ludo is from a local reservation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Miss Scarlett! Miss Scarlett is an absolute sweetheart and the best kind of companion. She is very friendly with people and loves being close to her humans. At bedtime, she happily snuggles up without hogging the bed—and on your days off, she’ll even let you sleep in. She is mostly potty trained, with only a couple of accidents that were due to timing, not her fault. Scarlett enjoys learning and already knows how to sit… especially if there’s a treat involved! She’s also working on catching treats—she can do it, as long as the toss is just right. One of Scarlett’s favorite things is being outside. She loves keeping watch for squirrels and rabbits and can have an impressive stare-down with a squirrel in a tree. Because of this, she can be a bit hard to distract when she’s locked in on wildlife, but it’s all part of her curious and observant nature. Scarlett is a quiet, well-mannered girl who rarely barks. Like many dogs settling into a new home, she is still working on a couple of things, including counter surfing and recall. She’s made progress already and will continue to do best with consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. If you’re looking for a loving, funny, and loyal companion who enjoys both outdoor adventures and cozy nights in, Miss Scarlett may be the perfect match for you! This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
