Story
German Shepherd without her personThis listing is a courtesy listing and not affiliated with Desoto Animal Rescue Society. Please contact the current owner below:   My elderly Mom adopted a female German Shepherd shortly after my Dad passed in 2023. My Mom passed unexpectedly last September, her 3yo dog, Angel needed someone to care for her until we could get things sorted out with Mom’s estate. During this time, we thought we would be able to make Angel a permanent part of our family. Things haven’t worked out quite the way we expected though. With a lot of thought and prayer, we’ve decided it would be best for Angel if we could find her a new home. Ideally, she needs a younger handler and a big space where she can readily run off the energy typically observed in German Shepherds. She is OK with younger kids, especially girls. She is does not tolerate boys as well or other animals and passing cars. We’ve been working to correct those behaviors but with our busy household we have found we can not do her due diligence with training. She is a smart dog and has shown that she is willing to learn. On command, she will (sometimes reluctantly) sit, stay, down, shake paws and kennel up. She can be stubborn though and will ignore you unless “treat” is mentioned. Again, diligence and consistency are the biggest factors. She will let you know when she needs to go outside. She usually starts whining and pawing the door between 6:30 to 7 am. Another way she alerts you to her needs is to grab your forearm or bring you any shoe that happens to be available. To an outsider, it may appear to be aggression, but it is truly a playful grab. This routine happens several times daily. She is housebroken! She will be current on shots as she is due to visit the vet for necessary updates. She is chipped. She is also intact, but we can arrange for her to be spayed if that is a requirement for the new owner. We would love for Angel to have a loving home. My mom loved her and she loved my mom. She needs a loving home that can give her the time she deserves and wants. She has supplies that will come with her:Veterinary recordsLarge kennel cageLarge cushionBlanketFood/water bowls2 winter coatsAssorted rubber balls and other toysFur brushIf you are interested in meeting Angel, please let me know.   Jerry Byard jfbyard@gmail.com 901-413-0141 June 22, 2026, 10:57 am

Story
Meet Heidi Heidi is a beautiful sable German Shepherd, estimated to be 2–3 years old and weighing around 75 pounds. Strong, intelligent, and full of energy, she would make an amazing jogging or activity partner for someone with an active lifestyle.  She is fully potty-trained and enjoys learning, especially when treats are involved! Heidi loves her chew toys and thrives in a stable environment where she can get regular exercise and attention. Because of her size and strength, Heidi would do best in a home without young children, cats, or small dogs. She prefers to be the only pet, though a calm, well-matched canine companion could be considered with proper introductions and gentle play. She can tolerate short periods in a crate but is happiest when she has space to move and be part of the family. Heidi is friendly with people and ready to bond with someone who can provide the structure, love, and activity she needs. Think you might be the perfect match? Apply to adopt this gorgeous girl today! She is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all dog vaccinations. Her local adoption fee is $300 for adoptions within the Memphis, TN tristate area.   Heidi’s out of state/not local to Memphis, TN tristate area adoption fee is $600 and includes the transport to states like PA, CT, NJ, MD, & VA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Heidi up north to her new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com   You can apply to adopt Heidi here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 30, 2026, 9:04 am

Story
“Hey there, I'm Sammie! I am a social butterfly who loves every dog I meet and really hope my future home has other pups to play with! In my foster home, my favorite times are snuggle time, playtime, and dinner time! I'm a pro at cleaning my plate. I am a bit curious about the resident kitty in my foster home, but I promise I've never been anything but polite! I'm well versed in 'sit' and adore a game of fetch. Give me a backyard, and I'll run myself into nap time. I've made many furry and human friends in my foster home, and they all seem to think I'm great! I'm working on mastering the leash and to not bark, but I am getting into the crate when asked! If you have a couch and endless love to give, I'm ready to be yours!" He is 4-5 years old and 65 lbs. He is fully vetted including neuter, microchip, and all shots including rabies shot. His local adoption fee is $300 for adoptions within the Memphis, TN tristate area.   Sammie’s out of state/not local to Memphis, TN tristate area adoption fee is $600 and includes the transport to states like PA, CT, NJ, MD, & VA. Story
Meet Abby, a beautiful 3-year-old female German Shepherd with a heart as big as her playful personality. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Abby loves being around people and would do best with older children who can appreciate her fun-loving spirit and gentle giant charm. This smart girl is already housebroken and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to the right family. She also knows basic commands like “sit” and is eager to keep learning. Story
Cookie was abandoned by his homeless owner and left on the street. A neighborhood BYB picked him up. He was kept out in a small 4 foot pen and never allowed out. Cookie was heartworm positive. I assisted with his rescue and several other dogs on the property after reporting the person for her illegal operations. Cookie received heartworm treatment and is free from heartworms now. He's neutered and trained to do tricks for treats. Great dog, housebroken, loving and friendly to other dogs. I let him play with all my new Intakes. Great for a older gentleman who is retired and likes to go for walks. Cookie can also hike the trails with young females. He's very versatile.
