Brutus is a absolute beauty. He is dog selective and goes in a play group with other dogs every day. He would be best suited for a female adopter. There might be something in his past that makes him not immediately trust men BUT with time and very slow male introductions, he can learn to trust...as he has with the male staff at the shelter. To the staff, he is a big goofball and soaks up all attention given to him. He just needs his right person. Special Needs-Experienced Female adopter that is sensitive to his non-trust issues with males and will take introductions to new people very slowly. This can help Brutus to be more confident and help his adoption to be successful. Approx. 3 years old

COMET IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN!    GSD lovers, check out Comet! He's a beautiful, young German Shepherd most likely under a year old. He is inquisitive, playful, incredibly smart, and food driven. He's done very well in training. He is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. He is good with kids and other dogs with a proper introduction. Comet needs a family that will pick up where the foster family leaves him in terms of training and *continues* that with him. Comet would not be good for a first-time dog owner; he needs a home that can fulfill him with walks, training, and enrichment toys! He's an incredibly loving dog and would do best with another dog friend in the home to run and play with. He is such a fun dog to play with, train, and scratch behind his massive ears.   He is fully vetted including neuter, microchip, and all shots including rabies shot. His adoption fee is $225. Meet me at PetSmart #2087 in Memphis, Tn. 5883 Poplar Ave Saturday, September 16th from 11am to 2pm! Shepherd Girl was running stray in the Olive Branch area for weeks. One of her frequent visits was to the food panty and the volunteers there asked for help. We set a trap for her and within hours she was safe off the old highway. After a few days to settle in we were able to get her into boarding and set up her spay. She is now spayed, microchipped, current on all her vaccines and preventatives. Sadly, she did test light positive for heartworms. She started her 2nd round of doxycycline regimen and is continuing with advantage multi monthly. Shepherd Girl is about 3 years old but has the energy of a young pup. Although she was very scared when she first arrived, she is now very confident with herself and inside the foster home. She does well on leash walking but is always anxious to get back inside. I guess I would be that way too if I had been roaming the old highway looking for a safe place to stay. We hope that she can find a home that will be patient with her and help her fit into their routine. She is kennel trained and will let you know when she needs to go out to potty. Save 1 Pet is a 501 (c) 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless animals. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes to foster the animals until they find a forever home. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter, heart worm check, current vaccines, microchip, worming and heart worm/flea/tick prevention. For dog adoptions, we do conduct fence verification. I am a bit curious about the resident kitty in my foster home, but I promise I've never been anything but polite! I'm well versed in 'sit' and adore a game of fetch. Give me a backyard, and I'll run myself into nap time. While I've got a sweet side, I've also been known to channel my inner American Ninja Warrior and take a hop over short fences. Deputy was found crossing heavy traffic dragging both back legs. He finally tired out and laid down behind a church and animal control caught him. We pulled him and The Savior Foundation sponsored his vetting where it was found he had an old bullet in his side and spinal Spondylosis with intervertebral disk disease and positive for heart worms. We got him neutered and are starting treatment on his back and legs. He is already walking again. He is very sweet natured and rest well inside his new large 48” crate. House broken and none chewer. Mild mannered. “ Update” Deputy passed his heartworm treatment just fine! No longer heartworm positive! Thanks to The Savior Foundation for sponsoring his medical treatments!❤️🐾
