Story
Cookie was abandoned by his homeless owner and left on the street. A neighborhood BYB picked him up. He was kept out in a small 4 foot pen and never allowed out. Cookie was heartworm positive. I assisted with his rescue and several other dogs on the property after reporting the person for her illegal operations. Cookie received heartworm treatment and is free from heartworms now. He's neutered and trained to do tricks for treats. Great dog, housebroken, loving and friendly to other dogs. I let him play with all my new Intakes. Great for a older gentleman who is retired and likes to go for walks. Cookie can also hike the trails with young females. He's very versatile.

Story
Meet Lilibeth Currently fostering in Tennessee. (If not adopted by then she'll be moving to a New England foster on 9/24/22) Here's the link to our adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/201317338010137 Let us introduce you to Lilibeth and her gorgeous little flowers. These guys found themselves in need of a new place to land and we agreed to take them in. Lilibeth has done a wonderful job protecting, teaching and taking care of her sweet little babies. Most of her babies have found their forever homes, now it is her turn. Lilibeth is a very sweet girl that enjoys spending time with her family. She is a great medium size dog at 46 pounds. She follows her foster mom around the house frequently just to see what she is doing. Her favorite place to be is on the couch next to anyone getting love. She adores kids, and will follow them were ever they go. Lilibeth is house trained, crate trained and doing great at all her manners. She is fostering with several other dogs of various sizes and personalities. She seems to do best with the ones that are closer to her size and a little calmer and submissive. Big dogs with lots of energy make her anxious. Lilibeth also tends to want to be the boss. Here's the link to our adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/201317338010137 ANIMAL INFORMATION: Name: Lilibeth Breed: German Shepherd/Collie Mix Gender: Female DOB: 02/12/2020 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccines: Current. Cats: No. Other Small Animals: Unknown Children: Yes, has met middle age children and done well. She has not been tested with infants or toddlers. ADOPTION INFORMATION: We are a foster-based animal rescue and we thank you for your interest in one of our animals. Our fosters and adoption coordinators are the backbone of what we do. Our fosters work tirelessly to integrate our rescue animals into their home, so that we can provide as much information to potential adopters as possible. In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need. If you are interested in one of our animals, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture. You may also find our application on our website at www.petmatchmakerrescue.com under the Adopt page. If they are listed on our website, their adoptions have not been finalized yet. That does not mean that we have not received several applications, already. Please complete an application if you are interested and we will keep you apprised of their current status. We are all volunteers that work full-time jobs, so please be patient with us. We will get back with you as quickly as possible. Good with dogs,
Story
Merry likes to be part of a pack and looks to the other dogs for guidance and reassurance. She is wary of new people but once she gets to know a person, she is very friendly. She is crate and house trained. She sleeps and eats in her crate. She knows a few basic commands. Walks on a leash but only in the backyard as is to scared to leave the house. She does go to doggie day care once a week and does very well. She would be best with someone who has German Shepherd experience or who has previously worked with a rescue dog. She needs to be with another friendly dog to feel secure. Excess barking or loud noises scare her. Also you need a tall fence or a secure kennel as she can jump.

Story
Quincy truly is the best of the best—a total jack-of-all-trades and the kind of dog everyone hopes to find. He’s super friendly, absolutely loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and is even cat-approved. If there were a “perfect house dog” checklist, Quincy would be checking every box with his tail wagging. He has an irresistible happy smile and an amazingly laid-back, easygoing attitude that makes him a joy to be around. Quincy is currently in foster with a trainer, who sums him up simply as “just the best dog.” High praise—and completely deserved. Quincy has been patiently waiting in foster care for almost a year, which is honestly baffling because he’s such a wonderful, well-rounded companion. He’s ready to leave foster life behind and finally have a family of his own to love. If you’re looking for a dog who fits in anywhere, loves everyone, and will brighten your days with his sweet personality, Quincy is your guy. 🐾❤️

Story
Hello, friends! My name is Johnson!I was found wandering the streets as a stray and brought to the shelter by Animal Control on December 12, 2025. I’m a handsome, good-sized boy estimated to be about 1.5–2 years old. With my fluffy coat, beautiful face, and unique features, we think I may be a Shepherd/Chow Chow mix—but if you see something else in me, let us know in the comments!I’ve already been neutered, I’m up to date on my vaccines, and yes… I tested positive for heartworms. But don’t worry—my heartworm treatment is included with my adoption fee, so I’ll be getting the care I need to be happy and healthy. The best part? I’m super photogenic and already stealing hearts with my good looks and sweet demeanor. If you’re looking for a stunning, loving companion with lots of potential and a bright future ahead, I’d love to meet you! ????
