Story
Zeus is a great dog. We originally got him because it was always a dream to have a German Sheppard and we wanted to give our other dog a friend and someone to play with. We bought him from someone that was ill equipped to take care of a puppy. He did great with our kids and dog, but as he has gotten older, about 11 months now, I haven't had the time to work with him and train him to the extent that he needs due to traveling for work so much. We hare to see him go but know he can and will do so much better in a house that has the time he needs. He has a crate that he has been crate trained with and lots of toys that will accompany him to his new home. If there are any other questions, please let me know.

Story
Marley is from a breeder that lived out in the farm back in Elgin, Oklahoma. He’s 1.5 years old with plenty of energy and curiosity! Because of his abundance of energy, he needs someone who is calm, strong, and experienced with his breed. Marley would absolutely love a large space to run around with and be spoiled rotten as he loves sleeping on the bed or couch and of course get LOTS of pets and snuggles. Marley is kennel and potty trained, knows to sit, stay, down, back, out and touch. He could use more training for jumping and pulling on the lead. Marley would be best with a couple, family with older kids or other dogs with similar energy level and size or as an only ‪dog. He is familiar with cats but is too rough with play.

Story
Marla (born in April 2018) is an exquisite German Shepherd in search of a dedicated and patient owner. She dreams of finding a loving home that can offer her the stability she needs to conquer her fears and embark on a journey towards a brighter future! While Marla envisions a life as the center of attention in a new household, there is a possibility for her to adjust to living with other dogs given a proper introduction. She may feel anxious around dogs in general and would benefit from multiple visits with her potential adopter. To ensure Marla's peace of mind, it is recommended that she be placed in a child-free environment as young children and highly energetic dogs tend to overwhelm her. Additionally, a secure 6-foot fence is essential as she has the ability to effortlessly leap over a 4-foot fence. With a well-structured routine, positive reinforcement, and the guidance of a professional trainer, we firmly believe that Marla will flourish into a remarkable companion. If you feel that Marla could be the perfect fit for your family, please take the first step by completing an application to meet this endearing sweetheart! Adoptions for Marla are limited to the area within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area so the pet can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. The suggested adoption donation for Marla is $250.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Rose (b. 8/2023) is a German Shepherd/Pitbull mix.  Rose is very sweet and extremely smart!  She is totally housebroken and stays in her kennel at night and when her foster parents are away from home.  She still has some puppy qualities - jumping, digging in the yard and chewing.  Her foster parents are also working with her so that she doesn't bark when people walk past the yard.  She gets along great with the other dog and cat in the house.  If you're looking for a perky puppy who loves the outdoors, then Rose is the pup for you.  The suggested adoption donation for Rose is $365, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than six months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger ,than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1833643##

Story
Apollo is a stereotypical German Shepherd. Apollo is looking for an adopter that will work with him on his behavior and training. He is very cuddly once he warms up and absolutely loves to train. He's incredibly treat and ball motivated. Apollo attaches to his people and can be fearful of new people if not properly intro'd. Apollo is looking for an adopter with breed experience that understands GSD behavior and personality and can also continue his training. He would do best in a home with older children that can help with his training. Apollo has done well with submissive dogs that are not overbearing. Apollo has also been working on muzzle training at MHS to make it easier on adopters to work with him. Apollo cannot live in an apartment and needs a home without cats and young children.

Story
Hexa (b 12/2015) is a German Shepherd who is looking for her furever home.  She's a bit of a shy girl who'd prefer a quieter home with people that will keep her active, but doesn't mind when new people come over!  She gets along with older children, but would prefer to be the only pet in the home.  This lovely girl is food motivated, which makes her easier to train, although she already knows basic commands like sit, down, and waiting for permission to walk through doorways.  She's potty trained, crate trained, and completely house trained!   She loves to run and play outside, so a fenced in yard where she can feel safe is a must.  Inside, Hexa loves a quiet spot to call her own where she can go and relax when she feels so inclined.  Because of her shy nature, Hexa is looking for a home that will allow her time and grace to warm up to her new family and learn to trust them.   If you can provide Hexa with the love, time, and affection that she desires, apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Hexa is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).
