Story
We found Athena on the side of a busy road malnourished, weak, and most likely dumped after having puppies. She is the sweetest girl with just the right amount of energy to keep you busy and will still want to curl up and get love after her zoomies. The reason we can not keep her is due to her not getting along with our cats that we had prior to picking her up off the side of the road and us not being able to give her the time and attention she deserves. She loves attention and with the right person/people will blossom into your best friend. If you're interested in giving her a chance at her perfect forever home please reach out to me!

Story
Meet Picard, a brilliant and beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd who’s looking for his forever home! This big boy has lots of personality — he’s smart, loyal, and thinks he's a tiny lap dog (spoiler: he’s not). Picard LOVES balls of all kinds and will happily spend hours chasing, chewing, or just proudly carrying one around. He thrives in an active home — hiking, running, training, or working – Picard wants to do something. He’s super intelligent and needs both physical and mental stimulation to be his happiest self. A bored Picard can be a vocal Picard, so he’d love a family who understands his drive and shepherd nature. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you on your toes (and snuggle on your couch), Picard might be your guy. Did you know that when you adopt from the Maggie Society, your new family member comes with two copies of vet records. All Maggie dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention prior to adoption. Your adoption fee goes towards the vetting of another dog or puppy in need. If interested in adopting, please complete an application. An approved application from The Maggie Society is valid for up to one year. It is not necessary to complete additional applications for dogs or puppies of interest if you have already been approved. Please reach out to the Maggie Society or your adoption counselor for a meet and greet!

Story
(DOB 08/10/2021) If you are looking for a GREAT family dog, you better check out Bonita!! She’s wonderful with children and will gladly snuggle with them all day if given the chance. Her affectionate personality extends to everyone she meets; she's friendly with strangers, other dogs (she does love other dogs!!), and even cats. Bonita, is affectionately known as BB, because of her sweet, easy-going personality who just wants to be close to her people. She’s more than a pet—she’s a loyal friend, a gentle soul, and a heartwarming presence in any home. Her calm, gentle nature makes her an absolute delight to be around. She is a good choice for a first time doggie person, too. While not high-energy, BB enjoys her outdoor time and does well in public outings and loves going with you on car rides. BB does not require a fenced in yard as long as her fur-ever family has time to take her out for daily strolls and potty breaks. Because of that, BB would be fine in an apartment, condo, or townhome. She is talkative at times, and it is very adorable. She'd be happy with another doggie friend in the home, but it isn't a requirement. When her family leaves the house, she goes into her crate without fuss and waits patiently for their return. Other than that, she is very, very good in the house and is out and about when her family is home. House-trained and crate-trained, BB has never had an accident indoors. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate or curled up with her foster kiddos (probably, her favorite place to be). During the day, she’s just as content lounging on the couch or snoozing under your feet. She doesn't have much interest in toys, but she’ll never say no to a tasty treat. Who doesn't?? BB's shiny, silky, black coat, her great smile, and ears that you just can't miss make her absolutely beautiful. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a lovable girl, BB is really going to make someone very happy and very much loved! As part of Bonita’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Bonita, you can complete an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2459769##

Story
(DOB 08/01/2023) This handsome GSD mix never quite grew into his ears, which adds to his charm!! He has a smooth and silky coat and a smile that will  melt your heart. Berkley is an active young guy who’s all about daily playtime, and fun adventures with his family. Whether it’s running around the yard, hiking through the trails, or playing fetch, he’s ready to make every day an adventure. This sweet boy is just looking for the right family to take him home and give him all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your active lifestyle and your heart with, Berkley is your guy!  Berkley is the ultimate toy sharer, and he LOVES playtime—whether it’s chasing tennis balls, showing off his best victory strut with one proudly in his mouth, or sharing a good game of tug-of-war. Berkley is still working on his leash manners, so a fenced in backyard is ideal for him!  He’s a tall boy, with big ears, with an even bigger heart, and who just LOVES being with his people. Whether you’re chilling on the couch, playing in the yard, or out on a fun adventure, Berkley is your ride-or-die sidekick! Berkley would do best in a home with older children who can keep up with his playful spirit. Berkley is also house and crate trained, which means he’s already got some solid house manners in place.   If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will bring joy and energy to your daily life, Berkley is ready to be your new best friend. Come meet this charming guy—he’s ready to run, play, and make every day an adventure with you! As part of Berkley’s $325 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Berkely, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1887422##

Story
Janet Jacket was rescued from a neglect situation. Unfortunately the family who rescued her fell on hard times and is losing their house so Janet now finds herself homeless again. Janet LOVES dogs, kids, and is good with cats. She's the total package. And she's athletic. So athletic that she can jump her family's chain link fence so she needs a nice tall fence to keep her safe. But don't worry, she doesn't jump on people! She'd love a family to take her on long strolls and play fetch with. Could that be you? Janet is heartworm positive, but her treatments are covered so don't let that scare you away. Apply today! This is a courtesy posting so she's not an official member of All Good Dogs Rescue, but obviously she's a good dog!
