Story
We found Athena on the side of a busy road malnourished, weak, and most likely dumped after having puppies. She is the sweetest girl with just the right amount of energy to keep you busy and will still want to curl up and get love after her zoomies. The reason we can not keep her is due to her not getting along with our cats that we had prior to picking her up off the side of the road and us not being able to give her the time and attention she deserves. She loves attention and with the right person/people will blossom into your best friend. If you're interested in giving her a chance at her perfect forever home please reach out to me!

Story
Meet Hunny :) she is a loving, sweet and kind German shepherd mixed (not sure what she’s mixed with but she is not full GS). She has been with us since 2022 and has gotten along great with my little siblings. She actually was taken in because she appeared at our door step back in September 2022 and we saw she was a gentle little dog and my siblings got so attached to her. We got her fixed, chipped and she’s very well trained. She listens and doesn’t typically have accidents in the house. The reason as to why we’re looking to rehome her is because her main owner (my sister) is starting a job where she is going to be traveling out of state and won’t be coming back for weeks at a time. Most adults here in the household work and have full schedules so being able to take care of Hunny bun will be hard. We are sad to have to let her go but hoping she can reach a loving and caring family :)

Story
(DOB 08/01/2023) This handsome GSD mix never quite grew into his ears, which adds to his charm!! He has a smooth and silky coat and a smile that will  melt your heart. Berkley is an active young guy who’s all about daily playtime, and fun adventures with his family. Whether it’s running around the yard, hiking through the trails, or playing fetch, he’s ready to make every day an adventure. This sweet boy is just looking for the right family to take him home and give him all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your active lifestyle and your heart with, Berkley is your guy!  Berkley is the ultimate toy sharer, and he LOVES playtime—whether it’s chasing tennis balls, showing off his best victory strut with one proudly in his mouth, or sharing a good game of tug-of-war. Berkley is still working on his leash manners, so a fenced in backyard is ideal for him!  He’s a tall boy, with big ears, with an even bigger heart, and who just LOVES being with his people. Whether you’re chilling on the couch, playing in the yard, or out on a fun adventure, Berkley is your ride-or-die sidekick! Berkley would do best in a home with older children who can keep up with his playful spirit. Berkley is also house and crate trained, which means he’s already got some solid house manners in place.   If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will bring joy and energy to your daily life, Berkley is ready to be your new best friend. Come meet this charming guy—he’s ready to run, play, and make every day an adventure with you! As part of Berkley’s $325 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Berkely, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1887422##

Story
Brodie is friendly, energetic, loves to play fetch. He's very social with people and good with other animals. He shared his food with a stray starving cat when he was around 3yrs. old. We nurtured the cat back to health and he played with it the whole time without harming it. He's never been aggressive towards any human or animal. Everyone is afraid of him because he's a German Shepherd, so he would make a great fake guard dog. He's an outdoor dog. We have an invisible fence which he stays inside of. Free. We just want him to go to a loving home.

Story
My family and I rescued Stella in mid-November after she was found on the side of a road after being hit by a car. Since then, she underwent a surgical procedure to repair her dislocated hip. I am happy to report that the procedure was successful and she has been rehabbing successfully ever since. Now that she is in good health, we are looking for a forever home for this sweet girl. Stella is a very sweet 1-2 year old German Shepherd mix and she loves to play fetch. She is extremely loyal and loves to play with our 5-year old granddaughter. She is completely potty trained and she knows basic commands. She has also received all vaccines/boosters and was microchipped. Stella is located in the Clayton area if you would like to meet her.
