Story
Stella is the sweetest girl. She loves everyone. A few things about her: -Adopted in 2021 as a puppy, her birthday is February 14, 2021 -Super smart and learns quickly. Has been to board and train and knows all basic commands. -Excellent on leash when not in crowded environments -House trained and crate trained. Crate can come with her. -Does well with our small child. She is gentle with him. -Has great recall, will come when called even when off leash -Lots of energy. She needs exercise and attention. Someone with another dog or a large yard would be perfect for her. -Does well in the car, does well in the crate, and does well when being boarded. We wish we could keep her as she is a perfect family dog but we just don't have the time she needs. We are unfortunately traveling too much to give her the attention she deserves.

Story
Yuzu, the lovable German Shepherd, is a champion sleeper who snoozes peacefully through the night. She has no issues with her crate and happily settles in when a treat or her food is inside. On a leash, Yuzu does well and is getting used to wearing a harness, with just a bit more practice needed to perfect her walks. This girl seems to be completely potty-trained, which makes her an easy addition to any household! Yuzu is learning basic commands like sit and stay and is responding well with positive reinforcement. Friendly with large dogs, Yuzu is a great playmate, though her experience with smaller dogs is unknown. She's generally fine with cats as long as they respect her space during mealtimes. Super sweet and craving affection, Yuzu thrives on love and attention. She's looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow, learn, and share her sweet nature with her new family. If you're seeking a loving, trainable, and loyal German Shepherd, Yuzu is the perfect match for you! Recent Weekend Host commented: "We did two 20-30 minute walks each day, with short potty breaks in between. We also had zero accidents throughout the weekend!" "She was perfectly fine being in the crate if she could see me still (ex. we had a family with a small child over and she was very well behaved in the crate, no barking, etc- just took a nap)," "Yuzu displayed no leash aggression when passing other dogs on our walks, even when other dogs barked at her." "She is the kind of dog that just wants to be with you, whatever you are doing. We immediately built a bond and wherever I went, she went. We had naps together, read together, and watched Bravo together on these hot summer days between our walking schedule. "

Story
What a breath of fresh GSD air! Holey Moley Cutie is about all we can say to this one! Brent is a totally edible-y cute German Shepherd mix younger adult who weighs about 40 lbs now likely with a bit more to grow. With stunning coloring and an active, fun and smart self, Brent is sure to win over any GSD lover and let's be honest, really any dog lover period. He is young and active and would do best in a home that allows for regular exercise. We suspect he is smart as a whip too, making him a great addition to family who is interested in a brainiac who can learn most anything. Adventures, snack and love, Brent is your go to guy. He does wonderfully with the other dogs at the farm and could easily join any pack! B is for beauteous and this looker sure is that. **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "Socially - good with other dogs and people. Activity level - excited but manageable, still a puppy"! "He is smart and curious, and wanted to walk quickly to catch up with the pack lead, it was funny! He followed the directions well. Friendly with other dogs in the pack, gave them kisses and accepted their socialization well!

Story
(DOB 08/01/2023) Berkley is growing up into a very handsome young adult. He is definitely filling out into a beautiful GSD-mix. His coat is shiny and silky soft. He has a beautiful smile and perky ears. Berkely is ready to love and be loved!  This youngester is looking for an active family with daily walks and play time. Berkeley is a sweet boy, and is just looking for the right family to take him home and love him fur-ever!! He is loveable and a little on the submissive side. He shares his toys nicely and loves to play. He would love a fenced yard to run around and romp in but it is not a requirment. He loves to play catch with a tennis ball and strut around a bit with it in his mouth. Berkley would love daily walks day and getting out to see and do new things, meet new people, and have new experiences.   He loves being with his people so make sure have you plenty of time to spend with him daily! A home with older children would be best due to his size. His foster 2-legged brother is awesome and has already taught Berkley basic commands. Berkley is highly motivated by food or treats which is awesome! We don't think a home with cats is a perfect fit; however, he is good with chickens at his foster family's house. He is also house and crate trained. As part of Berkley’s $325 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy,you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Berkely, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1887422##
