Story
Derwood is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old who came in as a stray and was never reclaimed. This older gentleman is ready to be someone's loyal sidekick. He leans in for scratches, takes treats with the softest mouth, and loves nothing more than exploring new scents. Derwood gets excited when it's time to leave his kennel-he's eager for adventure-but once outside, he's wonderfully easy to walk. The only challenge comes when it's time to head back in; he'll politely (and hilariously) try to guide you in a different direction. In playgroup, Derwood showed just how very house-trained he is-potty time was his top priority for the first few minutes in the yard. Once that important business was handled, his energy picked up and he became a bit too enthusiastic with his playmate, showing some intense, pouncy behavior. Because he was getting a little amped up, the session was ended early.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Derwood, 265567". Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 65 Age: 6yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
We are temporarily fostering a German Shepherd/Lab mix. He was surrendered to us so that he would not go to the pound. The owner's circumstances changed and were devastated they could not keep their pet. We unfortunately cannot keep him due to our schedules but would love to find him a loving and amazing home. He used to be crated all day every day so he does well in a crate as needed but we do not crate him. We will give his crate, food container, toys, etc that were given to us. He is gentle with kids, great with other dogs, not food or dog aggressive, does not walk you, silly, cuddly and just wants attention. He is always smiling. He is a little talkative but not overly. He would be amazing with a family with kids, single person, newly married couple or retired couple. He will be 5 in January. If you or someone you know wants him, please let us know. He really is a sweet dog. He has basic training and has great recall. He came to us overweight but is losing weight easily.

Story
Janet Jacket was rescued from a neglect situation. Unfortunately the family who rescued her fell on hard times and is losing their house so Janet now finds herself homeless again. Janet LOVES dogs, kids, and is good with cats. She's the total package. And she's athletic. So athletic that she can jump her family's chain link fence so she needs a nice tall fence to keep her safe. But don't worry, she doesn't jump on people! She'd love a family to take her on long strolls and play fetch with. Could that be you? Janet is heartworm positive, but her treatments are covered so don't let that scare you away. Apply today! This is a courtesy posting so she's not an official member of All Good Dogs Rescue, but obviously she's a good dog!
