Story
Meet Derwood, a sweet and gentle 6-year-old who came in as a stray and was never reclaimed. This calm, beautiful boy is ready to be someone's loyal sidekick. He leans in for scratches, takes treats with the softest mouth, and loves nothing more than exploring new scents. Derwood gets excited when it's time to leave his kennel-he's eager for adventure-but once outside, he's wonderfully easy to walk. The only challenge comes when it's time to head back in; he'll politely (and hilariously) try to guide you in a different direction. With his charm and steady sweetness, Derwood is ready to brighten someone's life.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Derwood, 265567". Story
Ace is a wonderful dog who is gentle, well-trained, and affectionate toward all living creatures. He loves the outdoors, does exceptionally well off-leash, and always stays close to his family, even on camping trips. Unfortunately, our new baby girl has developed allergies, which means we must keep her separated from Ace. Because he is such a loving and social dog, it has become difficult to keep him apart from the family without isolating him, and that isn’t the life he deserves. Ace truly belongs at the heart of a home. For our daughter’s health and for Ace’s well-being, we are desperately seeking a new, loving home where he can receive the affection, closeness, and companionship he thrives on.

Story
Janet Jacket was rescued from a neglect situation. Unfortunately the family who rescued her fell on hard times and is losing their house so Janet now finds herself homeless again. Janet LOVES dogs, kids, and is good with cats. She's the total package. And she's athletic. So athletic that she can jump her family's chain link fence so she needs a nice tall fence to keep her safe. But don't worry, she doesn't jump on people! She'd love a family to take her on long strolls and play fetch with. Could that be you? Janet is heartworm positive, but her treatments are covered so don't let that scare you away. Apply today! This is a courtesy posting so she's not an official member of All Good Dogs Rescue, but obviously she's a good dog!

Story
Meet Gypsy — a 12-year-old, 50 lb German Shepherd mix with soulful brown eyes and a heart full of love.   Quick Facts: Name: Gypsy Breed: German Shepherd Mix Age: 12 years old Weight: 50 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: No (doesn’t need one though) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Hasn’t been tested Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low (couch potato extraordinaire) Fence Required: No   About Gypsy’s Breed: Our best guess is that Gypsy is a German Shepherd mix. Senior German Shepherds are loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companions who mellow with age, becoming calmer and more easygoing. While they may slow down physically, their devotion and protective nature remain strong, making them wonderful pets in their golden years. Despite entering the senior phase of their lives (between 7-10 years old), German Shepherd retain their wisdom, loyalty, and gentle temperament, often becoming more relaxed and less energetic than in their younger years. With proper care—like a senior-friendly diet, gentle exercise, regular vet visits, and a comfortable environment—they can continue to thrive and bring immense love and companionship.   Gypsy is the definition of a perfect lady. She’s potty trained, calm, and trustworthy in the home without a crate. At an adoption event, she charmed everyone she met, soaking up pets and attention with her gentle nature. She adores children, gets along wonderfully with other dogs (including her foster siblings), and with her easygoing personality, she’ll likely do well with cats too.   Gypsy’s Glowing Highlights: House trained, no crate needed Dog- and kid-friendly, loves everyone she meets Gentle energy, enjoys slow walks and cozy naps Loving companion, happiest on a comfy bed or cuddled beside you Low maintenance, easygoing and well-mannered Ideal home: a calm, loving household where she can feel safe and cherished   Gypsy may not chase balls anymore, but she gives something far more valuable—unconditional love and companionship. With her warm brown eyes, gentle spirit, and affectionate nature, Gypsy is ready to spend her golden years as your devoted cuddle buddy and loyal friend!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We assist with coordinating transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!December 1, 2025, 5:11 pm
