Story
Hi, hi, oh hi!  My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a six year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds.  They think I am a German shepherd mix.  I came to the rescue after my family was moving and they dropped me off at a city shelter where I could die.  Lucky for me the rescue came and took me out of there.  So I am looking for a safe, new home.   I am a fun, water loving girl.  I enjoy my people, cuddles and car rides.  I have been around cats and will play with other dogs but am best suited as an only dog or have a male furry friend.  I know how to use a doggie dog, am house trained and know my basic manners.  I like to stay close to my people.  Everyone has faults and mine is high value resource guarding. I absolutely think Kleenex and treats are very valuable and don’t want to give them up or share them. I have been working on it with a trainer and she can help you and me both.  For those reasons I think small children are not a good match for my new home. I do enjoy activity like walking or playing ball but with my size I admit my endurance is low. I am curious and sometimes get distracted exploring new things.  You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings.  I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me, Bella at dogsasfamily.org.  You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what.  Can you love me that much? Story
Meet Mitchell – the boy with a heart of gold, ears that live their own life, and a weirdness you can only fully appreciate when you meet him! Mitchell has been in his foster home since the day he was born. He has always been a little different, and a very vocal boy – like all shepherds strive to be. Mitchell is 3 years old and 70 lbs of mostly German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees. He loves other dogs and his personality has really taken off with strangers too. He has a couple of best friend foster siblings that he enjoys playing with. Mitchell is house and kennel trained. He will need a home with a routine and patience as he works on leash training and that can help him keep learning. Mitchell has a pretty standard shepherd personality. If you have experience with shepherds, you fully understand. He wants to be worried about the world, while also being a social butterfly – an interesting combination for sure! Mitchell does get nervous with new things, but as his confidence continues to grow, we know that nervousness will get less and less. He hasn't been around kids but with his easy going demeanor we don't think he would have any issues in a home with kids that know how to respect their dog friends. He was born with bad hips and had surgeries to get him all fixed up. He’s still trying to learn that his hips are fixed, so he walks a little odd, but that just goes with his personality! Mitchell is a large dog, so he will benefit from some joint supplements as he ages. He may never be a super high energy guy, but more of a couch potato, hang out with his humans kind of guy. Mitchell wants to be a house dog, a true family companion, and would do best in a lower-key home. Staying active throughout his life will help him, but he won’t ever be a marathoner! You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application! Mitchell is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.

Story
Reba is a great girl! She was found roaming at a cemetery by one of our fosters. Reba is house trained, crate trained, walks good on leash, rides good in car and loves treats. She is dog friendly with slow intros but would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She can be a little slow to warm up to new people, but as soon as shes comfortable she will be their best friend! She loves belly rubs and will roll over begging for them. She is a big fan of stuffed toys and likes to carry them around in her mouth. Its the cutest! Reba is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and tick borne disease negative and has been on preventatives! Our Rescue is 100% donation based all the way to adoption. We do not have set adoption fees, but we do require a donation to be made at the time of adoption. Donations go towards saving other animals and preparing them for their new lives in their new homes! Story
Luca came from an abusive home and was surrendered to a shelter after being punched right in front of staff. Shut down, heartbroken, and days away from euthanasia, Luca had almost no hope until a foster stepped in and saw the kind, loving dog beneath the fear. Since then, Luca has made incredible progress. He is still a bit cautious with new people, especially men, but once he trusts you, his sweet, goofy, and loyal personality shines through. Patience is key with Luca, but the reward is a deeply devoted companion who just wants to feel safe and loved. Lucas Ideal HomeLuca would thrive in a calm, quiet environment with patient people who can give him the time and space he needs to feel secure. He tends to be more trusting of women and enjoys the company of other friendly dogs. He is also cat friendly. Why Youll Love Luca Fully potty trained Excellent leash manners Crate trained Calm and quiet Lucas journey isnt over. It is just beginning. He is ready for a fresh start with someone who will give him the gentle, consistent love he deserves. Luca is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Story
Barney arrived at WOF as a stray, alongside his companion Betty and their baby, Bam Bam. This sweet and friendly boy quickly captures hearts with his charm and playful personality. Barney is full of energy. He loves going on walks and exploring new places. He walks well on a leash, though he may get a little excited at the start. While he has minimal obedience training, he is potty trained and eager to learn. Barney does have some separation anxiety when crated, and he requires a very strong crate to ensure he stays secure. Hes making great progress with positive reinforcement. Barney shares a close bond with Betty and feels most comfortable when shes nearby. With his loving nature and enthusiasm for life, Barney will bring so much joy. Hes looking for a family that can match his energy and provide him with the love and attention he deserves. Barney would do best in a home without kids and with a secure six-foot wooden fence, as hes an athletic dog who enjoys exploring. While hes very affectionate with people, he may need a slow introduction to other dogs, especially if not adopted with Betty. If youre looking for a loving, active companion and an adorable duo, Barney and Betty might just be your perfect match! Barney is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and tick borne disease negative and has been on preventatives! Our Rescue is 100% donation based all the way to adoption. Story
Betty arrived at WOF as a stray, alongside her mate Barney and their baby, Bam Bam. She was a great mom to baby Bam Bam and remains closely bonded with Barney, though she does appreciate occasional breaks from his constant attention. This sweet girl is as loving as they come. Betty craves attention and affection, often gazing up at you with those irresistible puppy-dog eyes. She will quickly steal your heart. Shes a playful and energetic soul who loves her daily walks and is always up for an adventure. Betty is in the process of learning some basic commands and is already potty trained and crate trained. While she has bent a wire crate before, she has been doing better with time and positive associations being crated. Although Betty is very loving with people, she would do best in a home without young children. Her play style can be a bit too rough for little ones. She also needs a secure, six-foot wooden fence. Shes a talented jumper and can easily clear baby gates. Betty can be selective with other dogs and usually needs time to warm up. In her foster home, she mostly coexists with the other dogs rather than playing with them. She does have a strong bond with Barney, but even then, she likes to have her space when needed. If youre looking for a loving, active companion and an adorable duo, Betty and Barney might just be your perfect match! Betty is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and tick borne disease negative and has been on preventatives! Our Rescue is 100% donation based all the way to adoption.
