Story
Roux (Roo) is as sweet as they come. He may be large but is a gentle giant and thinks he is a lap dog. He is very smart and has been house trained since he was very young. He uses a bell hanging from the door to tell you when he needs to go out and when he wants to come back in. He loves people, especially children. He loves to swim and play fetch, although he can be stubborn with giving back the toy at times. He is kennel trained to sleep at night or while the owners are away. He was bottle fed as his mother gave up feeding when he was just a couple weeks old. So he is extremely kind and loyal. His bark is loud and ferocious, but he reserves it for only when necessary. He loves to be groomed. We are sad to give him up, but have changed our living situation. We are really hoping for a loving new owners for him.

Story
This is beautiful Bella. She has a great personality and temperament. She does great around kids of all ages with no issues at all around our cat and after a few weeks they were playing together. Bella is 10 years old but still has plenty of energy combined with a very calm demeanor. Bella was my mothers dog and she raised her since 6 weeks old. After her recent passing we have been fostering Bella. Yet due to our other adopted pit bull which is aggressive to other dogs we can not keep Bella. She is extremely intelligent and learns very quickly. She has been an inside dog her whole life and would make a great addition to your family. Due to some previous aggressive behavior towards other dogs I recommend her to a one dog home. Bella is a purebred German Shepherd but I am unable to locate the paperwork at this time.

Story
Hi, hi, oh hi!  My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a four year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds.  They think I am a German shepherd mix.  I came to the rescue after my family was moving and they dropped me off at a city shelter where I could die.  Lucky for me the rescue came and took me out of there.  So I am looking for a safe, new home.   I am a fun, water loving girl.  I enjoy my people, cuddles and car rides.  I have been around cats and will play with other dogs but am best suited as an only dog or have a male furry friend.  I know how to use a doggie dog, am house trained and know my basic manners.  I like to stay close to my people.  Everyone has faults and mine is high value resource guarding. I absolutely think Kleenex and treats are very valuable and don’t want to give them up or share them. I have been working on it with a trainer and she can help you and me both.  For those reasons I think small children are not a good match for my new home. I do enjoy activity like walking or playing ball but with my size I admit my endurance is low. I am curious and sometimes get distracted exploring new things.  You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings.  I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (including canine influenza) and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me, Bella at dogsasfamily.org.  You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what.  Can you love me that much? Miss Lottie - look at those eyes!! This gal loves to play once she’s comfortable. A little slower to warm up but when she does what an amazing gal! She loves playing with other dogs (once she is used to them) has a tad of the GSD protective side and is sure to make the right family complete! ##1896507##

Willow is dog friendly, loves little kids, and though she has never met a cat we think she would do well! She is nearly fully potty trained and learns a routine quickly. She takes a minute to warm up to new people but once she does, she is very playful and loves attention. ##1416003##

Story
Meet Snuggles Friday! This sweet girl is a German Shepherd mix. We did a wisdom panel on her and found out she is a German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and White Swiss Shepherd! She is just over a year old and about 75 pounds. She’s a surrender from a breeder, so we have pictures of her parents and her date of birth. Snuggles is a happy sweet puppy. She’s perfectly crate and leash trained and will sleep overnight with no accidents! She’s a happy girl that really loves people once she knows you and loves to play. She comes when she’s called and really wants to please. She loves her toys and playing with her friends. She also recently completed a two month training course with Guardian Angels, a training program for rescue dogs in Oklahoma! Interested in becoming a forever home for Snuggles? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Snuggles. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Snuggles the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
