Story
Hello, I'm Dylyn, Female - pending spayShepherd x English Springer Spaniel MixApprox. 4 months oldLike many pups, I love to move, explore, and interact with the world around me. I'm a bundle of joy sitting on the higher end of the energy scale. I thrive on structure and having something to focus on, and I'm happiest when I'm engaged and learning. The great news is, I absolutely love training! With clear directions and small tasks to work on, I settle beautifully and show just how smart and capable I am. Training helps me regulate my excitement and provides a positive outlet for all my puppy energy.I do best when I'm not given too much freedom all at once. Large open spaces or unstructured time can be a bit overwhelming for me, so I'll flourish in a home that enjoys guiding a young dog through learning and routines. I'm both crate trained and potty trained, and I'm learning to relax with appropriate outlets like chew toys. Once I've burned off some energy, I'm happy to sit beside you and quietly work on a chew.I get along well with kids and love being around people, though sometimes my excitement comes out as jumping. Since I'm likely to grow into a decent-sized dog, continued work on polite greetings will be important as I mature.I've recently started learning how to settle on an elevated bed, which is helping me develop impulse control and teaching me to pause and think rather than reacting with pure excitement.I would thrive in an active home that enjoys working with dogs, providing structure, training, and healthy outlets for my energy. With the right guidance, I have all the ingredients to grow into an incredible companion. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 11.002 Age: 0yrs 4mths 0wks

Story
Vida is a striking, soulful senior German Shepherd who is ready for a fresh start with someone who truly understands her. At approx. 6 years old, she carries herself with the quiet dignity of a dog who has seen a lot of life and is now looking for stability, comfort, and a person she can call her own. She is not a dog who gives her trust instantly, but when she does, it is deep, loyal, and incredibly meaningful. There are so many wonderful things about Vida. She is fully housetrained, crate trained, and has a solid obedience foundation. She knows sit, stay, down, come, and leave it, and she clearly takes pride in working with her person. She travels well in the car and has made noticeable progress since coming into foster care, showing that she is capable of growth when given time and consistency. Like many German Shepherds, she is intelligent, observant, and deeply bonded to the people she trusts. Her foster family has seen that while she may initially gravitate more toward men, she is absolutely capable of forming strong, affectionate bonds with women as well, once she feels safe. Vida is currently on daily medication that will need to be continued by her future family. She received Gabapentin and Onsior to prevent pain/discomfort from her arthritis and she is also on anti-anxiety medication (Fluoxetine). A 30 day supply of all of her medications will be sent with her into an adoptive home and an adopter will need to be vigilant about veterinary care and continuing these prescriptions. Vida prefers having her people to herself and thrives best when she does not have to share space, attention, or resources with other pets, so she would be best suited to a home where she is the only pet. Due to her sensitivities and need for a calm, predictable environment, Vida would do best in an adult-only home without children. She is also naturally protective of her space and can be wary of strangers in her home, which is very true to her breed. The ideal home for Vida is one with an experienced dog owner (ideally someone familiar with German Shepherds) and someone who is comfortable working on reactivity through trust-building, routine, and continued training. A person or couple who values loyalty over instant affection and who finds joy in earning a dogs trust will truly appreciate who Vida is. Vida is not looking for just any home. She is looking for the right one. In return, she offers steady companionship, intelligence, devotion, and the kind of bond that only comes from patience and understanding. For the right person, Vida will be a deeply rewarding companion and a loyal presence. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Please visit our website www.preciouspawsrescue.ca to submit an adoption application.

Story
Meadow is a very sweet gentle girl but can be very shy in the beginning. She does have anxiety and reactivity towards some men but with medication, training and time this can be worked on. Meadow is looking for a quiet home with no kids where she can settle in and learn to trust. Meadow has recently had surgery due to a broken hip when she came to us, but it is healing very well. She will need someone that is comfortable doing physio exercises with her which she accepts very well. We will provide you with all the resources you need and follow up appointments can be made through your vet. Meadow is a great dog that had a rough start, but we are working on her trust every day. If you think Meadow is your girl and are willing to have some patience with her then please come in any time between 11am & 5:30pm to meet her. Story
Fossa is a sweet, senior gentleman whose life took an unexpected turn when his owner lost their home. Now, he's on the lookout for a loving family who can offer the stability and comfort he truly deserves. At first, Fossa can be a little anxious with new changes, but once he's settled into a routine, he becomes the most loyal and affectionate companion you could ask for. He's currently taking daily medication for anxiety, but we're optimistic that with a steady, calm environment, he can eventually be weaned off the medication. One of Fossa's most endearing qualities is his love for stuffed animals. He often carries them on walks, gently holding them in his mouth like treasured friends. His charming personality makes him an ideal match for families with children, as he's sure to bring joy and warmth into any home. Fossa would thrive in a household with a family who is committed to continuing his training and helping him build confidence. He's looking for a patient family who understands the unique needs of a senior dog. Though he's working on leash manners and managing some dog reactivity, Fossa is eager to learn and show just how wonderful he can be. Though Fossa has developed some arthritis, he's on both oral medication and supplements to help him stay comfortable and keep moving smoothly. You'd never guess he's a senior dog – he still has plenty of pep in his step! Fossa is not just looking for a place to stay – he wants a home where he can be loved, a soft bed to call his own, and a chance to spend his golden years surrounded by care and affection. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion to complete your family, Fossa just might be the perfect match.

Story
Jack has won the hearts of our staff with his loving, warm personality. He greets us with affectionate hugs every time we enter his room, making him an absolute favorite! Jack is a laid-back guy who enjoys attention but also appreciates having his personal space when needed. He proudly shows off his new tricks and loves to strut his stuff on walks. Jack would make an excellent sidekick for car rides and adventures, always ready for a new experience by your side. Jack requires a calm, adult-only home with no other dogs or cats, as he can be reactive and aggressive towards other animals. While he is loving, he may become uncomfortable if someone invades his space when he is feeling uneasy, and this could lead to a defensive reaction. For this reason, Jack will thrive in an environment where he can have the space and time he needs to relax and feel secure. Jack is highly food motivated and has been clicker-trained, making walks a smooth and enjoyable experience. Jack has been diagnosed with a slowly progressive mobility issue as well as arthritis, he takes daily medication to manage both conditions and attends weekly rehabilitation sessions to help build strength and maintain mobility. To keep him comfortable and prevent muscle soreness, Jack should ideally live in a single-level home, where he doesn’t need to navigate stairs.

Story
Diesel was surrendered by his previous owners due to the ongoing medical care he requires. He lives with Idiopathic Epilepsy, which necessitates daily medication to manage his seizures. Additionally, Diesel has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition that affects his ability to properly digest food. To keep him healthy, he needs a daily supplement and a special gastrointestinal diet to maintain his weight and prevent digestive issues. Despite his medical needs, Diesel has been flourishing in his foster home for the past few months. His foster family reports that he has impeccable house manners and has made great strides in overcoming his separation anxiety—he now rarely whines when they leave the house. Diesel has a zest for life and loves running around outside and playing fetch. After an active day, he enjoys cuddling up and lying beside you for hours. He has integrated well with the family’s dog and cat, showing no signs of food or bed guarding. Occasionally, Diesel can be reactive to other dogs during walks, but this typically happens only if the other dog engages first. He may take some time to warm up to men and can find car rides a bit stressful, though he is improving with each journey. Diesel's affectionate nature and spirited personality make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide him with the care and love he deserves.
