Story
Indy is a loyal, affectionate, and adventurous dog who forms strong bonds with his people. He loves hikes, car rides, and playing with dog friends at the park. At home, he's calm, trustworthy, never destructive, and happy relaxing on the couch. With his family, Indy is incredibly sweet, snuggly, and loving and he’s great with our free-range ducks. Since we had our baby, he has become more protective of our home and family. Indy has a history of food-related resource guarding toward people and dogs, and his protectiveness has led to increased reactivity toward unfamiliar people. Most recently, he bit someone who tried to pet him while he was resting on his bed. Indy needs an experienced, adult-only home with no cats, where someone understands resource guarding and can provide structure, boundaries, and management. We believe he'll be an amazing companion in the right home. Since shelters won’t take a dog with bite history, if he doesn’t find a home soon we have to euthanize him.

Story
Lady was bought from a litter off a private seller with purebred German Shepherd parents. She is an amazing girl who is very intelligent and just needs a family with more time than we have to offer her. She has always been very excited to say hello to people and meet them and it can take her a little bit to calm down. She does have a small prey drive so it is recommended that you not have her around any cats or small pets. She is very much a loving dog with a very playful and silly mentality. She does understand voice and hand commands and is a quick learner.

Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. Story
We love our Ozzy boy and are sad to consider rehoming him. We had our first baby about a year and a half ago and have tried our best to make it work. Our biggest concern is him not getting enough stimulation anymore. He’s never gotten aggressive with our baby but he gets nervous when our baby goes towards him since babies don’t always know how to be gentle or behave around dogs. He loves his daily walks but his favorite thing is to be off leash and be able to roam. He has a sensitive stomach that he receives medicine for each night. We simply get a syringe and administer the medicine orally which he takes really well. It’s managed good at this point and his medicine is about $60 every month and a half. He has a big heart and we will miss him a lot. He has a super gentle nature and is instinctually a teddy bear even though he likes to act like he’s super tough. We want to rehome him to somebody post that can provide enough companionship and entertainment.

Hi, I`m Myron! I`m about 5 years old and weigh 86 pounds. I have a medical release that staff will discuss with you further.I am currently in foster care. Please contact Canine Program staff if you would like to meet me!Large dogs aren’t harder to love - sometimes they just need a little extra support. Ask us about our More to Love adoption resources for large breed dogs and puppies.I`m eligible for Greenhill`s Foster-to-Adopt Program! Through this program, you can foster me to see if we are a good match before committing to an adoption. Canine program staff can tell you more and you can learn more about this program here: www.green-hill.org/foster-to-adopt.** I`m a volunteer favorite and here`s why:`He is very well behaved & such a quick learner. Quick to listen, good recall, overall a smart well behaved dog!``Myron is great, he is easy to harness, very friendly and so well behaved on a leash.``Myron would make a great addition to anyone’s home. He’s such a good dog with so much love to give.` **Do you like...Dogs? I`ve been nervous meeting new dogs at the shelter. Please bring any dogs in the home to meet me.Cats? Unknown. A slow introduction would help set us up for success.Kids? I would like to be around kids that can be respectful of me. 10+Anything else you`d like us to know, Myron? I can be nervous with new folks, but once we`ve had a minute to get to know each other, I`m a friendly guy!I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me!
