Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Behavior Profile Color(s): BrownBrown— Independent, prefers to do their own thing.Could she do well with kids? Yes, with children 14 years and older.Could she do well with other dogs? Artemis is selective of the dogs she will tolerate and there is the possibility of multiple meets.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Artemis is a charming senior dog with a gentle nature who likes occasional petting but prefers boundaries, especially around her feet, ears, and teeth. She has a mild resource-guarding tendency but allows for the safe retrieval of items. Artemis enjoys squeaky plush toys and may greet new people excitedly, although she prefers to keep some distance from dogs after initial introductions. Overall, her social interactions are positive but selective.---For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Behavior Profile Color(s): BlueBlue—Has an energetic and boisterous nature.Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 12 years old on a kid-by kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? No. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Monkey is a lively and energetic boy eager to walk on a leash, although he`s still learning and can pull when tethered. He enjoys being handled and understands basic cues like `sit,` `wait,` and `come.` His play style is excitable, and he loves toys, especially balls. To manage his excitement, having two tennis balls for trades is helpful.Monkey gets along with other dogs once he calms down and shows good behavior when approaching them. He tends to jump up at strangers, especially men, but responds to redirection. There are no signs of resource guarding over food. It`s recommended that he goes to a home with older children to help him learn manners and improve impulse control.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Blue/Purple—8+ Kid by Kid, Dog by DogOnyx is a really nice boy, but he lacks impulse control and jumps up. He will need some work on his manners, but he doesn`t lack enthusiasm. He did live with small children but until he calms down he would definitely knock them over. He will also play with his mouth open and catch you with a tooth. There isn`t an ounce of aggression just overzealous playfulness; he absolutely loves a good game of fetch and then settles down for some chest and ear scratches. For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Meet Eve Eve is an estimated 3 year old, German Shepherd/Husky mix who has eyes that tell a story of resilience and hope. Her journey through life has been anything but smooth, filled with the heartbreak of being abandoned and on the run for weeks. What Eve is really seeking now is a loving home with someone who understands her breed and has experience with dogs. She has a moderate energy level, is good on a leash and working on mastering all of her basic commands. Eve does however have some quirks that staff are working on with her that potential adopters should be aware of, as she can become mouthy in situations she’s unsure of. She doesn`t ask for much - just understanding and compassion from her future family. An adult-only home is preferred, and experienced adopters who can provide the guidance and care she needs would be the perfect match. Eve is spayed, microchipped & up to date on all her vaccinations. She is also seems to do well with other dogs and is open to meeting them (a meet and greet would be required at our shelter for any potential canine siblings). With the right person or family, Eve has the potential to become a loyal and loving companion, ready to embark on a new and more stable chapter of her life. If you think you could provide her with that: please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (it can be found under the ‘adoptable dogs’ section).
