Benji is a 1-year-old, 90 lb German Shepherd mix with a lot of potential and personality. He’s smart and already doing well with basic commands, but he’ll require someone experienced in working breeds—especially German Shepherds—who can provide consistent structure and continue his training. Benji is currently a bit overweight, but he’s a great candidate for getting back to a healthy weight with regular exercise and a balanced routine. He enjoys being active and will benefit from an owner who can help keep him moving and engaged. He’s the kind of dog who will take a mile if given an inch, so he needs a confident handler who can set clear boundaries and follow through. He’s eager to learn and does best when he has guidance and support. Benji would do best in a home without cats or small animals. He can feel overwhelmed around multiple dogs, so he’ll thrive either as the only dog or with a calm, non-reactive companion. Because of his size and sensitivity to busy environments, Benji would be happiest in a home with older children who understand how to interact respectfully with a larger dog. He does best in a calmer, more structured setting where he can feel secure and supported. With continued training, regular exercise, and a committed owner, Benji has all the makings of a loyal, loving, and well-balanced best friend. A puppy will depend on you for frequent and regular feedings and walks, for guidance and training, and for much of your time and your love. Before you plunge into puppy parenthood, make sure to research! There are many rewards to caring for a puppy, but there are also many requirements. Puppy classes are highly recommended for socialization and a positive transition into your home. Puppies love to learn how to be the best dog for your family!If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.Your puppy’s adoption fee includes:- Current age-appropriate CORE Vaccines (Rabies/DHPP/Bordetella)- Heartworm Tested- Current on NexGard PLUS Monthly Preventative Chew (Flea/Tick/Heartworm Preventative & Dewormer)- Spaying or Neutering- 24-Petwatch MicrochipAdoption fee: $185.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2026 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. Mamba was surrendered to the shelter when her owners could no longer care for her. She is 3.5 years old and weighs in at 36 pounds. She does bark at new people at first but does warm up quickly. She loves going to the play yard to run and boy can she run! She is a swift runner that would enjoy having space to run! She does know sit and may know lie down (if you have a cookie). She has lived with children and did well with them and did well with our tester cat here at the shelter (however she did chase the cats that were outside when she was in her previous home). Mamba would love to find her second chance at a loving forever home soon! She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested (negative), and microchipped since her arrival at the shelter.
