Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Ginger Age: 5 or 6 years Breed: Coonhound, German Shepherd, Akita Mix - 68 lbs with long legs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed; UTD on rabies & distemper Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with everyone she has met so far; haven’t exposed her to cats but doubt it would be an issue Aggression or medical issues?: No aggression; heartworm positive upon arrival and has been through fast-kill. Is on monthly prevention and will need to be retested in a year to verify treatment work did what it was supposed to (extremely high success rate). Reason for rehoming?: owner did not keep her contained and eventually moved away. For 4 years, she walked miles every day for food/water on her daily rotation having back to back litters. It is not simply that the neighbors did not care, she just wasn’t used to being contained and they struggling catching her and keeping her contained. I have had no issues keeping her contained in my back yard, but I do have a hot wire lining my fence and I am nowhere near the area she was wandering for all that time. House/crate trained?: she has only come inside my house a handful of times honestly, she prefers to be a yard dog as that is what she is used to. She has had no accidents when indoors though. Does need a fenced in yard. Potentially additional measures as mentioned above but I have no way of knowing until she is in the new situation/environment to see how she reacts as she never even tried escaping at my house. Additional info/story (personality): She is beyond sweet. No, she isn’t a house dog, but she is a loving dog. Out of the many animal’s I have taken to my vet, she is in their top 2 list of favs out of my group. While she is a yard dog, she walks decently well on a leash (I’m ~125 lbs and the only thing that is difficult is getting her in my car as in she isn’t one to drag me all over). She has been around tons of dogs and people with me with absolutely no issues. Vet had her in perfect health besides the heartworm treatment that we have completed. She is definitely past her puppy days and prefers to lay around instead of playing with the other dogs, but this could also be due to the recent heartworm treatments. I definitely wouldn’t consider her as a guard dog as she is such a people pleaser (she rarely barks - assuming it was learned behavior as she was surviving “on her own” for so long). Please help give her the furever home she has always deserved! Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home . Story
Meet Nevin—a four-month-old shepherd mix pup with a heart full of love and a gentle, cautious spirit. Though he may be shy at first, once he feels safe, Nevin transforms into a cuddly, affectionate companion who adores snuggling up close.Like many young pups, Nevin is still mastering potty training. The good news? He already favors one spot, showing he`s well on his way with a consistent routine and positive reinforcement.Nevin thrives in calm, one-on-one environments. New people and pets can make him nervous, so a patient adopter who can offer him a quiet, stable home will help him blossom. Gradual introductions to new experiences, paired with treats and praise, can build his confidence over time.If you`re looking for a sweet, sensitive pup to grow with and love deeply, Nevin is ready to be your loyal little shadow. My adoption fee of $100 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Story
Hi, my name is Beau! I may look like a big tough guy at 95 pounds, but deep down I’m a gentle, sensitive soul who`s learning how to trust again. I was adopted as a puppy and returned several years later. No one knows exactly what happened during that time, but when I came back to Pawmetto Lifeline, I was scared and unsure. Thankfully, the kind humans here gave me time, patience, and training—and I’ve come so far!I’m an active, intelligent boy who loves to play. Fetch is my favorite game, especially if there’s a tennis ball involved. I’ll even bring it back! I also enjoy nature walks, tug-of-war, and learning new cues—I’m working on Sit, Down, and Come, and I’m walking to the yard on a leash like a champ. I thrive on routine, and I’m very treat-motivated, which makes training super fun for me.My ideal home would be a quiet adult household with people who will give me space and time to get to know them at my pace. The best way to build trust with me? Play fetch! I prefer not to be touched right away—unless you’re offering a butt scratch, and even that should be on my terms.Even though I’m beautiful, big, and fluffy, I don’t like to share my things. If you allow me on beds or couches, I may claim them as mine and feel uncomfortable if you try to move me—so it’s best to keep boundaries and teach me that furniture is off-limits.Because of my sensitive nature, I’ll need multiple visits with a potential adopter so we can get to know each other slowly and thoughtfully. Once I trust you, I’ll be a loyal, playful, and loving companion. If you`re patient, dog-savvy, and ready for a unique and rewarding bond, I might just be your perfect match. Could you be my forever person? My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! Story
Hi, my name is Blackie! My sibling Brownie and I are stunning German Shepherds with big hearts and sharp minds. We`re already picking up on basic commands and would thrive with an experienced dog owner who can continue our training and keep our minds and bodies engaged—boredom isn’t our thing! We’re still working on crate and potty training, but with a little patience and a consistent routine, we’ll get there in no time. We love people and older kids, and we’re always up for zoomies, roaming, and a good run! Just a heads up—we’re excellent jumpers, so we’ll need a secure, high fence to keep us safe.We get along well with larger dogs, but small dogs and cats aren’t a good match for us. We’re warming up to car rides and discovering that treats are totally awesome. If you`re looking for a pair of loyal, energetic, and loving companions, we might just be your perfect match!Adoption fee: $50Blackie is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Please fill out an adoption application at https://pawmettolifeline.org/adoption/adoptionapplication/ or contact adoption@pawmettolifeline.org if you would like to meet this animal.

Story
Hi, I’m Rosco — but my friends call me Rocky!I’ve been with my family for 5 wonderful years, and now I’m ready to find my forever home where I can share all the love, loyalty, and joy I’ve got to give. I’m fully housetrained, crate trained (I actually love my crate—it’s like my own little clubhouse), and I’m great with kids, especially the preschool crowd. I’m friendly with everyone I meet—men, women, other dogs—you name it!I’ve got a calm and cool vibe around birds and squirrels, and I’m always excited to explore the yard. One of my favorite things to do? Zoom straight to you at full speed and leap into your arms like a furry little rocket. It’s my signature move!I’m super sweet and love to be with my people, but I do like to have my space respected too. If I get a little bossy about it, a gentle reminder is all I need to settle right back down. I’m very eager to please, especially when there’s a “job” to do—I’ve shown a real interest in working around farm animals and would love an active home where I can be helpful. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, a fun personality, and just the right balance of cuddle and independence, I might be your perfect match. Let’s meet—I can’t wait to show you my signature jump!Adoption Fee: $50Rosco is part of our Home to Home Program. Story
Hi there! I’m Nash!I’m a happy, playful pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a few days and I’ll be your most loyal, snuggly shadow. I love to be close—especially at bedtime, when I curl up next to my foster human brother and snooze the night away in total peace.I’ve been having a blast playing with my big foster brothers (they’re German Shepherds!), and I’ve learned that chasing each other around the yard is one of life’s greatest joys. I also love going on walks and discovering all the new smells and sights the world has to offer. Toys and bones? Oh yes, please! They keep me busy and happy—especially while I’m still learning not to chew on everything (I am a puppy, after all!).I’m housetrained, love kids, and am working on all the other big-dog stuff like crate training and manners. I can`t wait to meet my forever family—maybe it’s you? I’ve got love, loyalty, and plenty of puppy kisses just waiting for the right home.My adoption fee of $100 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention.
