Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Jetta! Jetta is a bright, highly trainable young dog who is eager to learn and loves having a canine companion. She and her sister, Lady, came from an unexpected litter. A year later, they sadly found themselves homeless. Lady has already found her forever home, and now it’s Jetta’s turn. We do believe she needs a companion playmate. Jetta has lived comfortably with three other dogs and small children, showing that she thrives in a family environment. With her breed mix, she’ll do best in an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A fenced-in yard or an electric fence for supervised playtime would be ideal—she did very well with an electric fence in her former home. Jetta is housebroken when allowed indoors. She can be a little hesitant about car rides at first, but once she’s in, she rides along just fine. Jetta has not been raised around small animals or cats and tends to chase them outside, so a cat-free home is best. She was a family favorite at Pupapalooze and was gentle with children from start to finish. Jetta is waiting for a family who will give her the love, structure, and activity she deserves. Story
Max is a striking 7-year-old shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This smart and loyal boy is looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can be the center of attention — no other pets, please! Max thrives with structure and clear boundaries, and he forms strong bonds with his people once he feels safe and understood. He’s not just looking for a place to live — Max is looking for a partner. Someone who understands shepherds, appreciates their intelligence, and is ready to offer guidance, patience, and love. In return, Max promises loyalty, companionship, and plenty of tail wags. If you’re an experienced dog person ready to give Max the stable, loving home he deserves, he’s ready to meet you!

Story
Anastasia is an absolutely beautiful young girl. She is a unique mix of German Shepherd, Borzoi and a few other sighthound breeds (according to Embark). She is approximately 80 lbs now and definitely will continue to fill out as she fully matures. Just under a year old she is very much a puppy still but incredibly smart and easy to train. She walks well on a leash and crates quietly at night. She plays well with other dogs that can match her size and enthusiasm well and she is respectful of less capable ones. We would not recommend her in a home with cats, small older dogs or small kids due to her size and the potential to accidentally knock them over. She would make a super cool dog for most any sport and a home where she was able to engage in “work” would definitely suit her well. Send us a PM if you have any questions on this stunning girl!

Story
Ares is a good dog and loves being around his people. I have two daughters that he has always done great with since birth. He loves to be near you and cuddle up with you. He is a little skittish when it comes to men. He does have high anxiety and a high prey drive. This has caused significant issues within our neighborhood as he has gone after chickens and cats. He will need an experienced adopter in order to give him the best possible chance. Someone with more room to roam would also benefit him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We have not met Dax, but his family wants to find him a different home, and asked us to help. Here is what they say: His name is Dax. He is full of energy and loves to run. He does currently live with 3 other dogs but has major aggression towards any new animals. It is hard to take him in public and to the park due to his aggression. He is mainly German shepherd and rottweiler but has some Doberman and wolfdog mixed in. He has attacked stray cats and dogs that have come into our yard but has never shown aggression to any people. He is very energetic but is very easy with kids of all ages and elderly people." If you are seeking a dog to be your best friend, and are willing to keep him safe while he learns boundaries, perhaps this handsome boy would be a good match. Do note that he has high prey drive, and wants to protect you from whatever enters the yard. A neuter would help him immensely as well. Apply and we will send to his family for consideration.    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This boy and his identical, twin brother Ivan were found by a resident in our county and brought to the shelter for safety. The boys are very healthy, very well socialized, and lack only leash skills to be perfectly adapted. They are anxious to make friends with new people, and are always happy to have attention. We think they will be fine with other dogs, and they really like one another!    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
