Story
Rainer-German Shepherd-male-neutered- 2 1/2 years. Meet Rainer! This handsome guy came to CCHS as a surrender. Rainer was surrendered because he wanted to chase the cats and horses in his previous home, and the situation just wasn`t right for him. So this is where we come in! We are searching for a home for Rainer without cats and exposure to livestock. We feel Rainer is a very sweet boy. He`s great with people, smart and a fetch-a-holic. The staff love bringing him up to the office to pet him, give him extra love, and work with him on his commands. Rainer is eager to please and learns very quickly and this makes him EXTRA fun! Rainer is also very cuddly and loves everyone he meets. This boy is crate trained and does well in the home with supervision but he`s best crated when left alone and that`s the routine he was used to in his previous home. If you are a German Shepherd lover, consider Rainer! We are looking for an experienced home for him that will utilize his brain, enthusiasm and loyalty to mold him into a great companion! Rainer loves to go outside with the staff to play fetch and go for walks. Currently, Rainer weighs 90 pounds. He`s big and beautiful! Rainer lived with another dog, but he might prefer to be the king of the household. He can be reactive to new dogs on leash so having an owner who is good with this breed and will continue his training would be a great match up for Rainer. We just want Rainer to live up to his full potential. If you have what it takes and want Rainer in your life, apply to meet him at www.cchswi.org DATCP License #266742-DS

Story
Lone Ranger is a lovable German Shepherd who will forever be a giant puppy at heart! With his sweet personality and endless energy, he’s ready to bring joy and love to any home. While Lone Ranger has special needs due to hip dysplasia and swimmer’s syndrome, he doesn’t let that slow him down. He loves to try to play, though he may tire out faster after long walks as his legs become weak. His playful spirit is truly contagious, but it's important to note that he may need breaks to rest. Lone Ranger would do best in a home with older children, as his size and wobbly movements can be a bit much for younger ones. He’s very strong and a giant bundle of puppy energy! Although he can be a little mouthy, using his mouth to communicate, he is not aggressive and never tries to bite. He’s also okay with cats, but he might get a bit too enthusiastic and “in their face” while trying to play, so the cats will need to be tolerant of his playful nature. Lone Ranger gets along well with other dogs, but since he's still learning how to communicate with them, he can sometimes be a bit much. Having spent the first few months of his life locked in a crate, the crate is no longer his safe space, and he’ll need patience and encouragement to relearn that it’s okay. At the end of the day, Lone Ranger is a cuddly, loving dog who craves attention and affection. He would love nothing more than to snuggle up with his people after a fun play session. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, and affectionate companion who will bring so much love into your life, Lone Ranger might just be the perfect fit. Come meet him today and let him show you what a special pup he truly is! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.
