Story
***** Tarzan has been with us longer than we would like so he is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and his adoption fee has been reduced to $100. *****Who`s ready for adventure? Tarzan is! He might not be swinging through the jungle or wrestling crocodiles but this Tarzan would love to be out in nature with you sniffing all the smells and seeing all the sights. He is an energetic, friendly, affectionate, and curious boy who will give you lots of licks and lean in for pets. He warms up quickly to strangers and enjoys the attention. Tarzan will need time to relax after his time in the shelter before meeting new dogs, and intros should be done at his own pace but we think he might enjoy another playful dog friend. He is a big boy and is still learning his manners so he needs a home with no small kids. Tarzan would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement training in his future home to help him build his confidence and learn good dog manners. He also loves his people so much, that he would benefit from someone who has lots of time to spend with him. If he sounds like he might be the right fit for you, come visit the adoption center to ask about meeting him! Medical History: I appear to be a healthy adult dog, but it`s always a good idea to set up an appointment with your vet soon after adoption so we can meet each other!Weight: ~72 lbsAdoption Fee: $100 + TaxIf you`d like to meet me, click the `Learn About the Adoption Process` button below to plan a visit to the shelter!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lone Ranger came to us as an owner surrender due to his medical needs. We first believed he has swimmers syndrome, but are currently working through a myriad of potential contributing factors that might be affecting his mobility. At this time, Lone Ranger is available as a foster to adopt while we work through his medical issues. He is a typical happy, playful GSD puppy who would greatly benefit from a home where he can build his muscle tone and help learn how to navigate the world with his mobility constraints. Lone Ranger likes to play with other dogs, but can get frustrated at times so he would do best with a dog capable of healthy corrections or very patient with a big, goofy, awkward puppy. We would love nothing more than to get this sweet boy into a home where he can become a beloved family member. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/available-dogs

Story
Meet Indy, the pup that could out-run the Indy 500!Indy is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix. This high-octane guy is here to steal your heart—and possibly your snack! He’s got enough energy to fuel a rocket, so if you’re looking for a fun loving pup who’ll keep you on your toes... Indy is the one for you! Indy is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is incredibly intelligent and food motivated, enjoys training and aims to please. If you have never owned a Shepherd or a Husky, or even a Shepherd/Husky mix, we recommend doing research on the breeds prior to applying for adoption. Indy is a high energy working dog that needs a job or an outlet for his energy and drive.Indy needs an ACTIVE home with no small animals, but may do well with other dogs as long as proper, slow introductions are performed. Indy would do best in a home with older kids (around 10 years and up). Indy is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive.Think Indy could be the one for you? Fill out an adoption application on our website! For more information or any questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795!
