Story
This 9 year old boy is 3/4 GSD, 1/4 border collie. Hoss is a great dog for an experienced owner. He requires frequent exercise and remains very active. Walks, runs, and fetch with a frisbee are two of his favorites. He does have some anxiety and reactive tendencies on leash toward other dogs and does not warm up quickly to strangers. Hoss is a very sweet boy to his people and is incredibly loyal to his owners. We are looking to rehome him as we have a toddler and now a newborn - with this, Hoss’ herding instincts have become a problem at times. When he is anxious or if he has not gotten his exercise yet, he will nudge our toddler and give him a slight nip. Hoss is NOT outwardly aggressive toward children or people, but these slight nips as he wants to herd are not fair to our child. I would not characterize him as a dog that bites, but simply uses this nip as a herding dog would to re-direct. When properly exercised, this issue does subside significantly.

Hello, my name is Cicily. I am a playful, 2 year young girl who loves everyone of all ages. I am a local surrender, as my family had a medical emergency, so I am looking for my forever home. I am spayed and microchipped. I need a fenced in yard so I can run and know my boundaries, because i love to say hi to everyone! I love to go on walks and I know sit, shake, lay down, and working on stay and leave it. If you are looking for a smart and playful girl, look no further! P.S. I love my treats.

Story
I am Harley. I came from North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, as I was in a shelter that lost utilities after the storm. I had puppies a few weeks before the storm and was found with them in a crate before I went to the shelter down there. Another shelter took my pups, but left me behind, so I am now a Wisconsin girl. I love to snuggle with my foster and play with my current foster siblings. I sit very well, and gently take my treats when I am rewarded. I am crate trained and do very well in my crate and I am potty trained, and will let you know when I need to go out. I am a sweet southern belle, and am told I am going to make a great companion.

Story
Are you an experienced GSD owner? Have you been looking for a gorgeous guy to be your loyal buddy for life? Steve French is the dog for you! This beautiful, 1 year old, German Shephard arrived at FVHA as a stray. Steve is a special guy who will need a special owner. Weighing in at 80lbs, Steve French is a lot of dog who will need a home with plenty of space to stretch his long legs! An active owner with a fenced in yard would be ideal. The stress of the shelter has been weighing heavily on this intelligent, active, young dog. The only thing on Steve`s Christmas list is a furever home that will give him the patience and guidance he needs to show you how wonderful he truly is! He loves playing fetch and is an excellent walking companion!Steve has done well meeting children here at the shelter but would be best suited to a home with older children who have experience living with large breed dogs. He has big feelings when it comes to meeting other dogs so we would encourage a dog meet prior to adoption and slow introductions to any new furry family members. Steve is available for foster-to-adopt if you need more time to decide if he is the right fit for your home!Steve French is neutered, up to date on core vaccinations, has received flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. If you have any questions about Steve French or our foster/adoption process, please contact us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org and make an appointment to meet with him today!

Story
Super sweet and friendly boy. He is timid and shy at first but once he has warmed up to you he won’t leave your side. He is house trained and hasn’t had an accident indoors since being taught, when he needs to go he will let me know by pacing back and forth quickly and wining or barking. He can do basic commands like shake, come, sit, lay and stay. He is extremely smart and will have no trouble learning more. He is great with another large dog, unknown how he would be with small dogs. He does not get along with cats though. He has had minimal time around children but he was good when he was.

Story
Manon is super sweet and loving. She has had training with In Touch Training in WI. She is kennel trained and trained to sit in Place which is her raised bed or anywhere you want her to sit and stay. The only reason we are having to put her up for adoption is that we have 2 females from the same litter and they keep fighting. She is fantastic around kids and so affectionate towards everyone she has met. She is friendly with our cat but can play a bit rough with him. She loves to run and go for walks. Her favorite thing is to play in the snow. She has gone through her first heat but is not fixed. She also loves to play with toys and chew on deer antlers. She knows fetch, has been working on off leash training and recalls. We will send her with her collar, remote, antler and kennel.
