Story
This is Chase! Chase is looking for a home with a German Shepherd savvy human. He takes his role as guardian dog very seriously once he knows he has become part of the family. We believe with proper training and the right environment Chase will become the best dog he could ever be. Chase would do best in a home with low foot traffic, calm environment and someone who knows and understands German Shepherd traits. He’s is incredibly sweet, but also anxious when his environment is not consistent. While at the shelter we do have him on medication to help a little with his anxiety. Chase has bilateral hip dysplasia, and may need surgery later in life. Currently it is not causing any problems and we started him on joint supplements (he’ll get to go home with some too!) Overall, Chase just has a lot of love to give and needs a confident human to help him thrive.

Story
Adorable Flora is ready to find her forever home!Flora came to us as a stray. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup at about 75 lbs! Despite her size, she`s very gentle. While we`re working on her jumping up to greet people, she`s always gentle about it. Flora loves people and wants to hug and give face kisses to anyone she meets. Once she settles down, she`ll happily sit by your feet for pets and attention. She`s a lovebug who`s eager to please! She’s been in a foster home and has been working hard on her house manners, making great progress along the way. Flora is potty trained now. Her foster mom shared that once she figured out the doggie door, accidents in the house became a thing of the past! She’s also improving on her walking skills and already knows some basic commands!Flora loves to play hide and seek at her foster home and has a fun, playful side to match her sweet personality. She has done well with other dogs and has been getting along with several pups in her foster home. We believe a home with a confident adult dog to show her the ropes would be a great fit for Flora.Flora is currently on a prescription urinary diet to help manage urinary crystals, and she may need to remain on this food long-term. She eats Purina Pro Plan UR, which costs approximately $120 and typically lasts 3-4 weeks. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html) - Our shelter has open visiting hours for cats, however pre-approved application are needed prior to an adoption. Appointments may be scheduled with an approved application as well, otherwise we may not be able to accommodate same day adoptions. - Approved applications are required prior to meeting any of our dogs.

Story
Meet Cupcake Cupcake is a beautiful long-haired German Shepherd born on 9/2/2017. He is neutered, fully vetted, and has even had a dental completed — this handsome boy is ready for the right person to give him the second chance he deserves.Cupcake came into our care after his beloved owner passed away. The two shared a very close bond, and understandably, Cupcake has taken time to adjust to all the changes in his world. He forms deep connections with his people and thrives in a calm, predictable environment.Cupcake will require a specialized home without children or other pets. He does best in a quieter household with minimal visitors, as he values his space and needs time to warm up to new people. With patience and consistency, he shows his sweet, loyal nature. He is currently working on his manners and has been doing well with structure and training here at the shelter. Cupcake is learning to trust again — and watching him open up has been incredibly rewarding. If you have the time, patience, and heart to invest in this sweet older dog who is learning to love again, we encourage you to apply. To learn more about Cupcake, please submit a pet application at eastshoreha.org. Once approved, our staff will contact you to schedule your personal meet and greet.
