Story
Hi, I’m Tina and yes, I really am the best dog ever. I’m a total people-lover and I adore everyone I meet, including kids. If you’re looking for a dog who believes humans are the greatest invention of all time, congratulations, you’ve found her. I’m happiest when I’m by your side, whether we’re heading out for a walk, going for a run, playing with toys, or settling in for a well-earned nap. I love being active and would be thrilled to join you on walks and adventures, but I’m also an expert-level snuggler when it’s time to relax. Treats are a personal passion of mine, and I’m eager to learn new things, especially if snacks and praise are involved. Training with me is fun, rewarding, and full of tail wags. If you want a loyal, joyful, people-loving companion who will make every day better just by being in it, I’m your girl. Come meet me at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter and see why everyone agrees I’m the best dog ever. 🐾💖

Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Nova! She is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is almost ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'down', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Nova had a tough start in life, but she’s full of love and resilience. This brave girl came to us with an old injury to her right front leg — we’re not sure what happened, though it’s possible she was struck by a vehicle. She walks a little wonky, and her leg may get sore from time to time, but it sure doesn’t slow her down! At this time, amputation isn’t needed, though as Nova grows, her new family should be prepared for the possibility that it might be in the future. She may also need occasional pain management to keep her comfortable — but through it all, she remains happy, playful, and full of life. She does really well with other dogs and does a good job at matching their play style and energy. She does well in her crate too & lets you know when she needs to go outside. Even with her leg injury Nova has some hops! She's hopped a baby gate and 4' fence in the past, so she'll need a secure 6' fence in her new home. She's a young gal who is looking for a new pace to call home. She'll graduate towards the middle of February. Apply to meet her today!

Chimmy is a lovely dog who was relinquished to me after the owner did training and realized he was too big for their house. He is on leash trained, good with other dogs, chickens, goats, children, and strangers. He is a very laid back guy, but would love to go for hikes and outings with his new family.

Story
Oso is a gentle giant senior looking to spend his golden years in a loving home. Oso ended up at a shelter in New Mexico at the age of 8 years old. He was not thriving in a shelter environment, and we were lucky enough to be able to move him up to Colorado and into a foster home. Oso is about 85 lbs and likely a purebred German Shepherd. He has had full bloodwork and x-rays done, and seems to be very healthy! He loves food of any kind, and is smart and motivated to please. He enjoys long walks despite some arthritis in his spine, which we're currently treating with joint supplements and appropriate diet. Oso is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and Heartworm-negative. Oso is good with other dogs, and takes correction from other dogs well. We have not seen him with cats or small kids yet. He gets anxious in a kennel, which his foster is working on. If interested in adopting, please fill out the application at the following link: https://www.wildwestpetrescue.org/adopt
