Hi I'm Monk. What a catch...at least that's what everyone says :) I'm approximately 7 years old and I weigh 30 lbs. I am great with dogs, house broken, and crate trained. I love walks and napping on cozy stuff I can't wait to meet you! *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
If you are interested, please email the completed Questionnaire to swood-levin@burbankca.gov Raven is a German Short Haired Pointer. Her energy is a “10”! She checks all of the boxes of her breed type. She bonds quickly to people, likes children of all ages (although she is powerful, which may not be safe for younger ones) She’s friendly and can be submissive with people and other dogs. She really enjoys socializing. She’s cooperative during grooming time and has not shown any negative food reactivity. She’s been living in a foster home, and they report that her indoor manners are good. She is housebroken, doesn’t jump on beds/furniture or scratch doors. She is smart and eager to please although her unbridled energy and excitement requires patience. Raven is an intense hunter. She hunts all creatures, large and small, becoming EXTREMELY focused, making it difficult to distract her. A home with cats would be a problem. Raven craves affection. She has separation anxiety and has been fortunate that her foster parents are retired and are at home with her a lot. She was prescribed medication for her separation anxiety, but is was not helpful, so she will need to go to a home where she is not left alone for long periods of time and the adopter is understanding of this condition. A home with other dogs could resolve this issue a bit. Raven has fireworks sensitivity as most dogs do. She loves to play ball and take long, daily, walks. This beautiful girl is an elite athlete, requiring plenty of exercise. She would do well with some who runs or hikes daily and has the patience needed for her special type of breed. Please understand, because she has been in a foster home for quite a while now, we are fortunate enough to know and understand Raven’s quirks and needs and because our goal is to get her into a permanent home, potential adopters will have to be active, tolerant/patient, experienced and loving of this breed.

Story
We are still looking for the best home for our handsome boy! Chente will make a great companion for someone looking for a walk partner. We took Chente in back in May 2023 from a family that was renting and could not have large dogs. He was only 3 months at the time. I was a stay at home mom and home trained him. He was born February 21, 2023. I have started to work full time now and sometimes I am unable to walk him. He enjoys daily walks or just more time with someone. Someone with a job from home looking for a great partner. Chente will be your dog! He loves running/walking with me when I'm off. He loves playing tug of war with our pug/puddle mix rescues. We love him so much he is so handsome and I know his next forever home will love him too. He loves to cuddle and loves sloppy kisses.
