Story
We are still looking for the best home for our handsome boy! Chente will make a great companion for someone looking for a walk partner. We took Chente in back in May 2023 from a family that was renting and could not have large dogs. He was only 3 months at the time. I was a stay at home mom and home trained him. He was born February 21, 2023. I have started to work full time now and sometimes I am unable to walk him. He enjoys daily walks or just more time with someone. Someone with a job from home looking for a great partner. Chente will be your dog! He loves running/walking with me when I'm off. He loves playing tug of war with our pug/puddle mix rescues. We love him so much he is so handsome and I know his next forever home will love him too. He loves to cuddle and loves sloppy kisses.

Story
If you are interested, please email the completed Questionnaire to swood-levin@burbankca.gov Raven is a German Short Haired Pointer. Her energy is a “10”! She checks all of the boxes of her breed type. She bonds quickly to people, likes children of all ages (although she is powerful, which may not be safe for younger ones) She’s friendly and can be submissive with people and other dogs. She really enjoys socializing. She’s cooperative during grooming time and has not shown any negative food reactivity. She’s been living in a foster home, and they report that her indoor manners are good. She is housebroken, doesn’t jump on beds/furniture or scratch doors. She is smart and eager to please although her unbridled energy and excitement requires patience. Raven is an intense hunter. She hunts all creatures, large and small, becoming EXTREMELY focused, making it difficult to distract her. A home with cats would be a problem. Raven craves affection. She has separation anxiety and has been fortunate that her foster parents are retired and are at home with her a lot. She was prescribed medication for her separation anxiety, but is was not helpful, so she will need to go to a home where she is not left alone for long periods of time and the adopter is understanding of this condition. A home with other dogs could resolve this issue a bit. Raven has fireworks sensitivity as most dogs do. She loves to play ball and take long, daily, walks. This beautiful girl is an elite athlete, requiring plenty of exercise. She would do well with some who runs or hikes daily and has the patience needed for her special type of breed. Please understand, because she has been in a foster home for quite a while now, we are fortunate enough to know and understand Raven’s quirks and needs and because our goal is to get her into a permanent home, potential adopters will have to be active, tolerant/patient, experienced and loving of this breed.

Meet the sweet and adorable Roxie. She is an 8 month old German Shorthair Pointer mix who weighs 38lbs. Roxie knows how to have a good time and she’s looking for a family to share in the fun. She loves her toys but would be happy to share them with you. She will chase balls as long as you are wiling to toss them. Roxie walks well on a leash and would enjoy taking nice long walks or hikes. She is crate trained and would not mind sharing her home with another dog. Roxie is well behaved and will be a wonderful addition for a family who has time to spend with her. Apply today if you’d like to meet this sweet girl. If you are not located near our rescue or if the drive is a problem for you, please still apply, as we bring animals out to as far as San Diego in order to bring them to their forever homes. Currently, we are driving animals far out on an as-needed basis! If an animal is posted, they are VERY likely available. Story
Our family rescued him from a home where he was neglected. He was underfed, dirty and cold when we found him. We have a cat and a dog and he was able to get along with them great. He’s a big goof ball who just wants to be loved. He loves to bring you something when you walk into the door and loves to eat! He’s an extremely smart dog who learns fast and just wants to please. We are currently renting and our landlord will not allow us to have any more pets. We were able to hide him for a year but we finally got caught so sadly we have to find him another home.

These pups are in Los Angeles, California too!

Story
Baloo is a 2.5-year-old Dalmatian mix who is very smart, and VERY goofy. He is an intense sniffer, preferring to spend most of his time with his nose glued to the ground, and if you're not careful he'll wander off while following his nose. He also has a nervous disposition, particularly in new situations, so when Baloo encounters new places or new people/dogs, he prefers to sniff everything out until he is comfortable before breaking out his charming personality. , While Baloo can be very selective with his friends, particularly his dog friends, once he has gotten to know you and accept you, he's fiercely loyal and incredibly loving. Whenever he sees an unexpected friend (dog or human), his tail wags so hard that his body wiggles all over the place and he can barely walk straight. Baloo also gets the zoomies A LOT (did I mention he has a ton of energy?) so he loves to be outside. However, since Baloo gets really attached to his human/dog friends, he doesn't particularly enjoy being out in the yard on his own. He doesn't usually get separation anxiety (although he can in some situations), and he can be left alone for long periods of time, but he generally prefers to go explore with his group of dogs/humans nearby. While Baloo does exhibit some behaviors that would be cause for concern for certain owners, we believe an experienced owner or an owner that is committed to training/has trained in the past to deal with complex dogs would be able to take great care of him. Ultimately, we love Baloo very much and want the best for him, and we know that he can be the perfect dog for someone looking a dog with a lot of love to give who needs a lot of attention and love in return. Story
Buddy is a beautiful male Pointer mix, weighing 48 pounds, born 3/30/23. My husband and I rescued him from Devore Shelter in San Bernardino, CA on 1/22/24 upon seeing his picture on their website. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations. He’s neutered and chipped. He’s a sweet and affectionate dog. He’s great with other dogs, playful, good natured, smart and gentle. He’s house and leash trained, he enjoys walks in the neighborhood. He’s not aggressive towards other dogs on his walks. He doesn’t bark unless someone is at our door and rings the doorbell. He is crate trained and sleeps an average of 11 hours a night. He generally starts to get tired 2 hours after his dinner time feeding and evening walk. We wanted to save a dog from this shelter and foster him until we could find a permanent loving home for him. He’s best with a full-time companion. He naps after daily walks. Likes chew toys, doesn’t teethe on furniture. Families with children 12 & up, couples or a single companion.
