Story
Molly is an incredibly resilient little girl who's making amazing progress every single day! When we found her, she could barely walk. Now she's confidently strutting on walks, breaking into the cutest zoomies, and has turned into a fearless little adventurer, eager to explore everything around her! She's the best of both worlds—snuggly on the couch and always ready for her next adventure. Molly has done wonderfully with children and has been gentle and friendly with them. Despite everything she's been through, Molly has done an amazing job with potty training and has quickly settled into a routine of doing her business on walks. She's also incredibly smart and eager to learn, already knowing "sit," "go to your bed," and responding to her name. Molly is the kind of dog who just needs someone to believe in her. She's curious, goofy, incredibly bright, and full of personality. Watching her blossom has been such a joy, and her future family will have the privilege of seeing her confidence—and her heart—continue to grow. ❤️

Story
Darla ~ 4 Years Old and 51lbsSassy, loyal, and looking for my `one and only.`About MeI’m a German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a big personality and a heart to match. I’ll be honest: I’m a bit of a `slow burn.` I can be shy when we first meet, but once I feel a spark, I transform into your devoted, sassy best friend. Think of me as the ultimate `ride or die`—I just need a little patience and some gentle introductions to show you my affectionate side. When I bond, I bond hard. I’m an absolute cuddle bug who just wants to soak up your attention. I’m also quite the intellectual; I love structure and I’m a star student (especially if you’re paying me in high-quality snacks). My HobbiesAdventuring: I’m always down for a car ride or a long walk where I can sniff out all the local gossip.Cozying Up: After a day of exploring, I’m a professional-grade couch potato.Learning: I’m smart, capable, and love a partner who gives me clear boundaries and consistent vibes. The Fine Print (Let’s be real)Exclusive Relationship: I’m looking for a home where I can be your only dog. I like my space and I’m not really looking to share my person with other pups. The `Uniform` Thing: Just a heads up—men and women in uniforms (mail carriers, etc.) make me a bit nervous. I’m looking for a calm, understanding partner who can help me feel safe. The Vibe: A peaceful, low-stress environment is where I truly shine.Ideal MatchI’m looking for a patient, kind soul who understands that the best things in life take a little time to flourish. If you provide the reassurance and the treats, I’ll provide the loyalty, the sass, and a lifetime of cuddles.Swipe right if you`re ready for a deep connection and a devoted companion!

Meet Bear! An 80 lb, 1.5-yr-old Great Dane/GSP mix fostered in 29 Palms. Visiting Santa Clarita/SCV in mid-September for meet-and-greets!• Personality: High-energy, intelligent "shadow dog" who leans in for hugs and deep affection. Good with people once given a moment to slowly warm up. • Pack & Manners: Great with other dogs! Fully house-trained and crate-trained. Thrives on a steady daily routine. • Travel: Rides quietly in the vehicle, but experiences significant anxiety and car sickness/nausea. We recommend he travels on an empty stomach for scheduled rides. • Activity & Home: Athletic stamina for adventures. Needs an active home with a secure, solid fence (he is a clever problem solver when bored). • Health: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, vet-checked in August 2026, with a low-maintenance short coat.Apply today to meet Bear during his SCV visit or in the High Desert!

Story
Strider recently spent time in a foster home, where he showed what a good companion he can be! He was calm and affectionate indoors, enjoyed being petted and having his belly rubbed, and was playful at times with toys while also settling nicely to rest. He takes treats very gently, knows “sit” and “down,” comes when called, and walks well on leash in quieter environments. His foster found that being around a person seemed to help him feel especially relaxed, and he was friendly, loving, and well-mannered throughout his stay.In a previous home, Strider was reported to have done well with dogs, cats, and the 5 children in his family ages newborn to 9, but started to struggle with meeting strangers, especially men. Here at the shelter, he initially was nervous with new people. More recently, volunteers have recently described him as affectionate, easy to walk, and fun in the yard. Strider may just be a dog that appreciates meeting new people slowly in the home, or being cozy in a separate room or in his kennel when guests come over! He’s become a rockstar with dogs and is so much more social with people than when he first arrived. We’re proud of this boy and hope you will give him the chance to win your heart! @vcanimalservices Strider (darker brindle) and Swirls (cattle dog) running their laps at Ventura County Animal Services ?
