Story
We are looking to rehome Remington to an experienced, adult-only home.Remington is a smart, loyal dog who bonds closely with his primary person. He does best in a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries. He has significant behavioral challenges that we have not been able to fully address, including:Reactivity and aggression toward unfamiliar people entering the homeResource guarding and defensive behavior when correctedIncreased reactivity toward women and children in the householdDue to these behaviors, he is not a good fit for a home with children and would do best in a quiet home with an experienced handler who understands behaviorally complex dogs.He has not received professional training due to financial limitations, but we believe he has the potential to improve with consistent, experienced guidance. This has been a difficult decision, but our priority is the safety of our family and finding the right environment where Remington can succeed.

Story
There must have been a time when se was loved. You can see it in the way she sits so politely. The way she watches your face for direction. The way she understands "sit" and gentle correction. The way she knows a treat and how to earn it. And the way she adores cuddling! We're pretty sure she didn't end up being abandoned because she wasn't good enough. We wish we knew the story, but all we know is she was homeless and all the searching did not turn up her family! But here's what matters now- she is incredibly smart, she is house trained. She bonds quickly with her people. She has clearly lived in a home before. And she is waiting for that feeling again! If you have room in your home- and your heart- she is ready to give you everything she has! Penny is people focused, has a good energy level that a family offering mental stimulation and fun can easily offer her. Go hiking, go jogging....take her with you camping! She displays super loyal bonding with her person traits. Penny is stunning- athletic and lean. She has a very confident personality and would do best with a dog that is not dominant. We don't know if she's lived with other dogs, but she has successfully been with them where she was initially found. Located in New Jersey- come meet Penny and see if she's the dog for you!!

Story
MEET LEO!! Leo is an approximately 4-5 year old male neutered Lab Golden and German Pointer mix. What a stunning combination! Leo is tall, dark and handsome and currently weighs around 75 lbs. Leo is a dapper and simple kind of guy. He has a calm and gentle presence. He is past the younger dog chaos and settling into a nice stride. He waits patiently in the morning to take on life. From leisurely walks through property trails, a soulful display of comfort when petting him, to laying down on his cozy cot. His soul penetrating eye gaze as you rub his under chin that says, “Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.” Leo will sit there stoically as you give him a big hug and it tells you everything you need to know about him. He has been professionally trained to increase his likelihood of being adopted. He appreciates a system of communication as he navigates the world that once misunderstood him. He just needed the right team in his corner. Prior to training he would get over excited around dogs or squirrels for example. Now he is capable of calm leash walking and experiencing the world. He has proven he really is a simple kind of dog that deserves a simple kind of life. Leo is both house and crate trained. Leo does great with female dogs around his size but his prey drive seems to strong for small dogs and cats. Leo is a very intelligent and stunning guy who is looking for his forever family to take him on the adventure of life and be has loyal as he is ❤️❤️❤️ If interested please contract Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org

KENNEL ID #18804Meet Pistol, a Golden Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. He will turn 4 years old on April 9th. Pistol is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs about 80 pounds and believes he’s a lap dog!  Pistol is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, making him a great companion. As a vigilant watchdog, he has lots of energy and loves to play and run around. His favorite toy is a squeaky chicken, and he enjoys playing fetch. When he’s not active, he loves to relax and receive belly rubs. Although Pistol was raised around children, he has recently become uncomfortable in their presence, and his warning growls can be intimidating for kids. Therefore, his owners are looking for a home without children. Transfer Fee $200Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption, please submit an application to adopt. If you have any questions regarding the adoption process, please email:  rescuedp2024@icloud.com  or ddlu219@yahoo.com   for dog/puppies.    APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG     CAT     BIRD      REPTILE       SMALL ANIMALS       May 20, 2026, 9:33 pm
