He loves being wherever his people are and is always ready for snuggles and scratches. Scout sleeps great through the night, is comfortable in his crate, is a great eater, and walks amazingly on leash—right by your side until a squirrel brings out his Pointer instincts! He loves chewing on toys, entertaining himself, and playing a good game of toss. Scout is a sensitive guy who can get timid around loud cars, noises, or lots of commotion, but some positive encouragement helps him work through it. He would thrive in a calmer home where he can settle into a routine and continue building his confidence. Overall, Scout is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to hang out with his people and be loved!

Welcome Oaks to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Oaks is a 1.5 year old German Short haired pointer and German Shepherd. He is about 48 pounds and a good weight. He is good in a car, potty trained, doggy door trained and lives with six children starting at age 2. He also lives with 6 other dogs and does fine. He would be great with a family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is smart, laid back, good with other dogs and bonds deeply to his family. He is a little timid with strangers but comfortable with his people. His foster family is going to start taking him places so he can get used to changes in environment and other people. He is smart but he doesn’t like to retrieve like his sister does. He is a nice dog and naturally a little protective to his family. He would be great with a family that the dad travels and he wants to feel that his family is safe and taken care of. He is a moderate shedding dog and with his long legs would be a great walking or jogging companion. He is neutered, healthy and getting his vaccinations and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200.
