Story
We are looking to rehome Remington to an experienced, adult-only home.Remington is a smart, loyal dog who bonds closely with his primary person. He does best in a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries. He has significant behavioral challenges that we have not been able to fully address, including:Reactivity and aggression toward unfamiliar people entering the homeResource guarding and defensive behavior when correctedIncreased reactivity toward women and children in the householdDue to these behaviors, he is not a good fit for a home with children and would do best in a quiet home with an experienced handler who understands behaviorally complex dogs.He has not received professional training due to financial limitations, but we believe he has the potential to improve with consistent, experienced guidance. This has been a difficult decision, but our priority is the safety of our family and finding the right environment where Remington can succeed.

KENNEL ID #18804Meet Pistol, a Golden Retriever and German Shorthair Pointer mix. He will turn 4 years old on April 9th. Pistol is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighs about 80 pounds and believes he’s a lap dog!  Pistol is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, making him a great companion. As a vigilant watchdog, he has lots of energy and loves to play and run around. His favorite toy is a squeaky chicken, and he enjoys playing fetch. When he’s not active, he loves to relax and receive belly rubs. Although Pistol was raised around children, he has recently become uncomfortable in their presence, and his warning growls can be intimidating for kids. Therefore, his owners are looking for a home without children. Transfer Fee $200Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption, please submit an application to adopt. Story
MEET LEO!! Leo is an approximately 4-5 year old male neutered Lab Golden and German Pointer mix. What a stunning combination! Leo is tall, dark and handsome and currently weighs around 75 lbs. Leo is a dapper and simple kind of guy. He has a calm and gentle presence. He is past the younger dog chaos and settling into a nice stride. He waits patiently in the morning to take on life. From leisurely walks through property trails, a soulful display of comfort when petting him, to laying down on his cozy cot. His soul penetrating eye gaze as you rub his under chin that says, “Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.” Leo will sit there stoically as you give him a big hug and it tells you everything you need to know about him. He has been professionally trained to increase his likelihood of being adopted. He appreciates a system of communication as he navigates the world that once misunderstood him. He just needed the right team in his corner. Prior to training he would get over excited around dogs or squirrels for example. Now he is capable of calm leash walking and experiencing the world. He has proven he really is a simple kind of dog that deserves a simple kind of life. Leo is both house and crate trained. Leo does great with female dogs around his size but his prey drive seems to strong for small dogs and cats. Leo is a very intelligent and stunning guy who is looking for his forever family to take him on the adventure of life and be has loyal as he is ❤️❤️❤️ If interested please contract Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org

Story
Charlie is an incredible dog with so much love to give. He is incredibly sweet and all he wants to do is spend time with you. He loves to go on walks, runs, and adventures, but his absolute favorite thing is to snuggle. He is approximately 2-3 years old and he is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, listens well, and knows many commands. He is good with kids (to the point where I’ve had children come up to him and pet him without warning and he does not react), and good with other dogs after a warming up period. He wants more than anything to be around his humans. I am looking for an adopter that can spend tons of time with him and someone able to be home with him much of the time. Someone who can consistently take him on walks, play with him, and make sure he gets plenty of activity. I honestly do not want to give him up, but recent life changes make it so I am unable to do this for him and I want him to find a home where he gets the time, love, and attention he deserves.
