Story
Roo is looking for her forever home! Roo is a beacon of happiness, always radiating joy and enthusiasm. Her exuberance for life is evident in her wiggly and energetic nature, often hopping around like a playful goat when she is excited! Despite having some special medical needs, Roo has overcome challenges with resilience and is now seeking the perfect home to share her boundless joy. This spirited pup loves meeting new people and is sure to bring a smile to your face with her silly antics. Her absolute favorite thing is playing with her beloved ball and witnessing her enthusiasm is a true delight! Her foster family can't get enough of the amusing noises she makes – from adorable snarfles to entertaining grumbles, Roo never fails to express her thoughts and feelings! Roo is wonderful in the car and is always excited to be your copilot! After she’s gotten her energy out, she transforms into a cuddle bug. When it’s time to relax, she’ll snuggle up and tuck her little head in the crook of your arm, accompanied by the most precious snores!  Roo has faced some unique medical challenges that are believed to stem from a combination of mechanical and neurological issues. According to her neurologist, Roo has evidence of a skull malformation, likely from birth, causing her to be unable to open or close her jaw completely. She also has bilateral trigeminal neuropathy (big words for such a small babe!) which contributes to the lack of range of motion in her jaw as well as affecting sensation in her face and her eyes.  Due to the lack of sensation in her eyes, she had one of her eyes removed that had been damaged before she came to us, and requires daily eye drops in the other to keep it healthy. Roo also needs softened food since she can’t chew properly.  Roo has been doing well with basic manners and training. With her medical conditions, we implemented creative strategies to help determine the most effective way to support her learning, and she is doing fantastic!  Roo was born in May of 2023, is a German Shorthaired Pointer, and weighs 30 pounds. If interested in adding this super special girl to your family, please fill out an application at https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application. Her adoption fee is $550 and she is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old. See more photos of Roo on her Facebook album! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.687391840097173&type=3 ##1777829##

Story
Jj is a year and a half old. I cant keep him anymore as my girlfriend and I are having a kid and I can not give him as much attention as he needs. He is super friendly and loves to play. He is high energy like all German shorthairs and needs daily walks. He is just not up to date on his most current shots which were due recently. I have his medical history. Willing to go down on price, just put it higher so that people who consider him seriously want him and will take good care of him.

Story
They are siblings age 6 years old and weighs around 60LBS each. They are wonderful wonderful family dog. We had them since they were 8 weeks old and at the time our girls were young (now teenagers) and they did very well with them. We do not hnt so I can not tell you if our dogs will do well in a hunting situation. They are full of energy and will run for hours. We're desperately seeking a loving individual or family who can offer them a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. Please, if you have room in your heart and home for these sweet souls, reach out to us. Your kindness could make all the difference in their lives. Unfortunate circumstances have forced us to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome our 2 cherished 6-year-old unneutered male German Shorthair Pointers. This decision to find them a new home did not come lightly since we have tried everything possible to keep them. It is due to reasons beyond our control.

Story
Arrow is now at his ideal weight, looking handsome and athletic with a shiny, healthy coat. He’s gained a lot of confidence in his place in the pack and enjoys wrestling with his Weim foster brother. Arrow is a German Shorthaired Pointer and he’s about 2 years old and 60 pounds. Arrow is a large, athletic dog. His long legs give him natural running ability, and with continued practice he will make an amazing running buddy. He regularly does 8-12 milers with us, and does need a few reminders to stay focused but it’s steadily improving. He also loves walks - we do two kinds of walks. One we call “sniff walks” on a long lead where Arrow can follow his nose. The other is just about exercise business and he walks really effectively on a half hitch to curtail the pulling. Arrow needs these outlets - both mental and physical - to be his best self. Arrow is doing well on sit and getting better at come. We are also working on “place”, which we think is important to peace at the dinner table, as Arrows head is effectively table level. He’s completely house trained and crate trained. He’s a handsome athlete and will be successful with a family who can commit to giving him the physical and mental outlets GSPs need to be good dogs. After seeing him settle in, I’d be comfortable with him going to families with other dogs (male and female) with patient adjustment time and the understanding that this boy is a giant puppy, who loves big and plays big.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 15, 2024, 8:43 pm
