Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Anna! Anna is about 1 years old and weighs about 20 lbs. We think she looks like a Schnauzer/Yorkie/Scruffy Terrier Mix - THIS IS JUST A GUESS. Anna is NOT a hypoallergenic dog. Anna is a very shy and quiet girl. She has come out of her shell slowly in her foster home, but she is still a shy dog. Anna is playful and sweet once she gets acclimated. Anna enjoys the company of the resident dog in her foster home and requires another young and confident dog in her forever home. Anna came from a very rural area and is not used to all the hustle and bustle of Suburbia. Anna is still fearful of many everyday noises and will run and hide when she is afraid. Anna is not fostered with children and given her shy nature, we feel if there were children in her forever home she would be ok with respectful children 12 years and up who can understand Anna will need her space. Anna will need time to adjust to her forever home and is not a dog who will enjoy being picked up or being pet constantly. Anna prefers a calm and quiet lifestyle. Anna is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $400.00. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Fill out the application and we will follow up with you! We will connect you to his foster! LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Sue B (sueb@homewardtrails.org) ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for this dog: $595 ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 65 lbs is our best guess ESTIMATED AGE: 7 months in Jan. 2026 KNOWN WITH DOGS: A typical puppy - friendly, outgoing, playful and curious. Loves other dogs so would do well in a home with another one…or can be an only pup if you promise to get him some friends! As Buffy is on the shy side she relishes the guidance of another dog! KNOWN WITH CATS: Her foster home has two cats. If the cats are calm, she is calm and just sniffs. She will often lay near a calm cat and do nothing at all. She will chase after them *playfully* if they run. She is learning. She has shown ZERO aggression towards them. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Great. She can be excited and jumpy sometimes – typical puppy behavior but does well with the kids in her foster home. KNOWN COMMANDS: Is learning lots – foster will gladly share with you all that she is learning! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: She's doing excellent, very quiet in her crate. She knows when it s bed time. She often will just go in there for some quiet - though she also loves stretching out on the couch. She is also doing great in housebreaking, although a dog in any new environment may have accidents as they acclimate. KNOWN LIKES: Playing, treats, napping, chewing and romping in the sun. KNOWN DISLIKES: None know so far. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Buffy is an adorable girl who would love to finally find her adoptive home. She is great with kids and dogs and lives well with cats. She is on the shy side so a patient home without too much chaos would be ideal. HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines and de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: - Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) - Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) - Best Paws Forward Training Program – HT adopters ONLY ***A portion of EVERY ADOOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities ***BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

Story
Ila Mae is a 7 year old schnauzer mix who has already lived through more than most dogs ever should. She was found in horrific condition and landed in a shelter before making her way to Full Circle Rescue and Sanctuary where her real healing could finally begin. Since coming into rescue, Ila Mae has been fully vetted and recently had a major dental where 25 painful teeth were removed due to severe decay. The good news is she feels so much better now and has plenty of healthy teeth left to enjoy her meals and treats just fine. Comfort was the goal and comfort is what she got. Ila Mae is the definition of calm and gentle. She is quiet, easygoing, and perfectly content just being near her people. She does well with other dogs but truly shines in a peaceful, serene home where life moves at a slower pace. She is not demanding, not dramatic, and not here for chaos. She is here for soft beds, kind voices, and a safe place to rest her head. This sweet girl is ready for her second chance and deserves a home that sees her for the treasure she is. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her spay, vaccines, microchip, and parasite prevention. Apply to adopt at www.fullcirclerescueandsanctuary.com
