Story
Meet Millie a Golden Retriever we rescued from a puppy mill. Please read her description thoroughly before putting in an application. Millie was born Sept 25, 2022. She weighs 50 lbs.. She is a gentle, sweet and loveable soul. Millie is in a foster home. She has gone from being terrified of people to loving everyone here. She will dance around for treats, and play with other dogs all day. However, you will not see the happy side of Millie for a few weeks. She will revert to being afraid and sometimes terrified in new surroundings and with new people. The trusting process will start all over again.  She needs a special home. She will cower down when someone approaches her.  She will lay in a corner with her head down at first. She will not come to you. She will need to adjust on her own time   She is very treat motivated, although the first few weeks she would not take any treats from us. She was too scared. She does not walk on a leash, she will lay down. Once she trusts you, she will walk a bit on a leash, however she still has a long way to go. You may have to carry her outside for a while. She gets along great with other dogs She needs another friendly, submissive, younger, easy going dog in the home to teach her how to be a dog, this is a must  Your dog must have a good vet record with a history of being on heartworm prevention.  She needs an adult in the family who is home more, no young children under 10 years of age, although she loves all people and kids she is skittish.   She sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night. She sleeps through the night, without a peep as long as the crate is in the bedroom. If we put the crate in another room, she will bark for a while.   She also has a crate in the family room which is her safe place when the door is open. She will spend much of her time in the crate at first, until she feels safe enough to come out.  Millie will take a lot of time and patience for her to come around. She needs a special home. Thankfully treats are the way to her heart, but not at first.  She is going through her puppy stage now that she is comfortable in her foster home. She will get into things, and needs to be watched for chewing things like pillows.and indoor plants.  She is housetrained , however the foster home does have a pet door so she goes outside as she pleases. Applicants must be within a 1 hour distance from Grovertown, Indiana 46531. 2 meet and greets will be required. First you must come and meet Millie here, the 2nd meet and greet we will bring her to your home. If the 2nd meet and greet goes well she will stay with you for a 10 day trial adoption.  Millie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is a sweet, gentle unsocialized girl that came from a bad puppy mill and needs a lot of patience before she will trust you. Please watch her video and put in an application on our website. Meet and greets are by appointment only and your application must be approved before we can schedule any appointment to meet her. We are looking for the right home,  Only apply if you are serious and meet our adoption criteria. You must work out of your home or be retired. She can not be crated for long periods of time.  You must have a secure fenced in yard, and another confident and happy dog to show Millie how to be a dog.  Apply at https://indianasaveadog.com/adopt-available-dogs-1 ##1804545##

Story
Sweet Odie girl. Odessa is a 2-3 old "mini golden doodle though that all seems correct she has some tiny legs so who knows. What we do know is she's 100% precious angel. She found her way to a new beginning with us after being used as a breeding mom at a puppy mill. THINGS ODESSA NEEDS IN A FOREVER HOME: - A patient family. Odessa is really such a gem but due to her beginning life she does need a family that will be patient and willing to earn her trust as at the beginning she can be a big timid. - A fully fenced yard, in hopefully a calm neighborhood. - Another confident dog to help continue to show her the ropes. As well as we've noticed another friendly pup helps her trust easier. - Though she does well with children of all ages, we'd believe and recommend that she would do best with children over 5. Odessa is crate trained. Potty trained. Leash trained. Lover of snuggles and attention. She is ready for her forever home as soon as a perfect match for her is found and matched. She promises she's worth it all! If you would like to be considered a forever home for her and live within 3 hrs of Chicago please head to www.dtranimalfoundation.com and apply for her directly under the adopt tab. Story
Quinn girl, Quinn is a fighter. Quinn like a lot of other dogs came to us as a breeder release after a long at least 7 years of being bred over and over. She was a prime example of what happens when you support puppy mill "breeders". Quinn came to us with years of matting that after it was all gone we couldn't help but cry by how relieved she felt. She had who knows how many litters and was never appreciated herself. She still has some work to do but is ready to start building her forever relationship. Quinns forever home must have another medium/large confident dog. She relies on her foster siblings to show her the ways and honestly just follows them around for comfort. She loves to be outside. She is potty trained. She isn't too fond of the crate but does well outside in the home as well. She is still a timid girl so trust has to be earned but once it is earned she does her best to let you know that she appreciates you. She will require some patience and encouragement but she promises she is worth it! If you are interested in being considered a forever home for Quinn please apply for her directly under the adopt tab at www.dtranimalfoundation.com If you have questions before applying please email dtrafadopt@gmail.com

Story
Sophia is estimated to be one and has already had an unfortunate beginning. Thankfully we were able to take her into our rescue and give her a brand new start with the best foster! Sophia was a breeder release and unfortunately had at least one litter before finding her way to us. Her forever home requires or should know the following things: - Another medium/large confident dog to help her continue learning the ropes of being a dog. - She is potty trained. - Someone who is home more than not at least during the transitional period. -Family filled with patience and encouragement to continue creating a safe and positive environment for her. She is a very sweet girl who is gaining confidence everyday but of course still has some work to do! She loves her people and though trust is a little rocky at first once she bonds, SHE BONDS. If you are interested in being considered a forever home for Sophia head to www.dtranimalfoundation.com under the adopt tab!
