Story
She was spayed and is loving life in a home not a barn. She is a beautiful medium golden retriever poodle mix and is 2 years old. She is truly the sweetest girl! Azula is learning how to be a dog more each day and that everything doesn't have to be scary. She loves to watch out the window and door especially on nice sunny days. Relaxing on comfy dog bed while watching TV one of her favs, recently she found cuddling with foster mom/family is also amazing :). Toys are still new concept so far bones and small stuffy are best, most liked treat at time small dental bones/chews. Of course if someone sneaks her human treats that's glad accepted ;) Azula does well with other dogs, cats are unknown, once she feels comfortable she loves to be around people. The car is also still scary but she's trying be brave and think it's amazing like her foster sibling. She has not had accidents in home, if required will go into crate (not often home a lone). She is working on commands, does not pull leash walking but does best with harness, will require fenced yard due to possibility of running from home area. Azula is looking for her forever family where she can continue to get love and get to explore more. Story
She is a 2ish year old poodle golden retriever mix. She will be spayed this week and is loving life in a home not a barn. She was used as a breeder in her past life. She will require a structural fence and another dog would be of great benefit to her in her forever home to show her the ropes. She is doing great on housebreaking but her foster mom is retired. She does not like a crate and sleeps with her foster mom at night. She is looking for a quiet home and one where her owner will be patient with her as she continues to adapt to her new life. Story
HONEY is a F1B Goldendoodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. She is a sactuary dog that is available under our Foster to Adopt program. She is 5 years old. She had an injured leg which required ACL surgery which we had done in 2019. She was terrified of people when she first came.. She was rescued in 2019 when she was one year old. Honey has come around. Her fear is getting better with people. Once she bonds with someone she is the sweetest most loveable dog to them. Like others in our sanctuary she will never be a social butterfly. Honey gets groomed every 2 months and rides in the car well, She will walk on a leash to the groomers building. This has become a routine. She needs routines. If she is familar with a place she will do well. She will probably never walk on a leash for daily walks, she will be too afraid. She just needs her back yard and her home. If you ever go on vacation she will need a dog sitter in your home. She will never do well taking a trip or going to boarding. Honey has become a bit protective of her people. If you have company she will stay away, however there have been incidents when a stranger turns their back she will try to nip at their butt or ankles then run away when they turn around. We feel she protecting us. We would not call this aggression it has never led to more than a nip and then she runs the other way. She does not do it with all people. The key would be for her to get to know your guests with treats. She would do best in a home with no children because of the possible nipping when friends come over. She is good with dogs, however she will be the alpha dog. She does not play with other dogs either, she just wants her people. She is a calm dog. She has no anxiety really. You can leave her to free roam. She never uses a crate. She can be trusted. She will not chew or get into anything.  She needs a secure fenced in yard and someone home during the day. You must be located within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana.  She is vaccinated, spayed , microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##2057193##

Story
Meet Millie a Golden Retriever we rescued from a puppy mill. Millie is a Sanctuary dog and available under our Foster to Adopt program.  Millie was born Sept 25, 2022. She weighs 50 lbs.. She is a gentle, sweet and loveable soul. Millie is in a foster home. She has gone from being terrified of people to loving everyone at her foster home. She will dance around for treats, and play with other dogs all day in her foster home. However, you will not see the happy side of Millie for a few weeks. She reverts to being afraid and  terrified in new surroundings and with new people. The trusting process will start all over again.  She needs a special home.  She will cower down when someone approaches her.  She will lay in a corner with her head down at first. She will not come to you. She will need to adjust on her own time   She is very treat motivated, although the first few weeks she would not take any treats from us. She was too scared. She does not walk on a leash, she will lay down. Once she trusts you, she will walk a bit on a leash, however she still has a long way to go. You may have to carry her outside for a while. SHE MUST HAVE A SECURE FENCED IN BACK YARD She gets along great with other dogs She needs another friendly, submissive, younger, easy going dog in the home to teach her how to be a dog, this is a must  She needs an adult in the family who is home more, no young children under 10 years of age, although she loves all people and kids she is skittish.   She sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night. She sleeps through the night, without a peep as long as the crate is in the bedroom. If we put the crate in another room, she will bark . When she first came here she had a open door crate in the family room which was her safe place. Mille will need to be crated when you leave, she will chew up things and counter surf. This is one of the reasons that she needs a home where the adopter is home during the day. She does not like to be crated.  Millie will take time and patience for her to come around. She needs a special home. Thankfully treats are the way to her heart, but not at first.  She is comfortable in her foster home. She will get into things when you are not watching, she will chew things like pillows, and indoor plants.  She is housetrained , however the foster home does have a pet door so she goes outside as she pleases. Millie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is a sweet, gentle unsocialized girl that came from a bad puppy mill and needs a lot of patience before she will trust you.  We are looking for the right home,  Only apply if you are serious and meet our adoption criteria. You must work out of your home or be retired. She can not be crated for long periods of time. Can you carry a 50lb dog to the back yard if she won't walk?  You must have a secure fenced in yard, and another confident and happy dog to show Millie how to be a dog. You must live within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana. For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##1804545##

Story
Benny and Buddy are brothers. They were transferred to us from a breeder. Older puppies are not money-makers. They are both 9 months old. Buddy is around 18 lbs and Benny is around 12 lbs. We almost named them Mutt and Jeff because Buddy is taller than Benny. They will not get any bigger. They are F1b Mini Goldendoodles which means they are 25% Golden Retriever and 75% Poodle. Mom was 60 lbs and Dad was 11lbs. They are both bonded and we need to keep them together. Although they are the same age Buddy is like a father to Benny. Benny looks to Buddy to teach him. Buddy loves to fetch toys. Someday Benny will too.  Although the breeder took good care of them physically.... emotionally they did not receive the love and companionship that puppies need. They lived in a kennel. They were fearful of people at first. It just took them a week or so to trust us, and now they are jumping up on the couch and loving on us as if they have been with us forever. They can be fearful of new surroundings and new places, they just need time to adjust. They are in a puppy pen and have access to a pet door to go outside to a fenced in yard.  They seem to love all dogs but larger dogs can make them reactive and fearful.  Adoption Criteria: Someone must be home during the day to give them the companionship and training they never had. Children living in the home must be 10 years of age or older because they can be skittish. A fenced in backyard is also required, no invisible fences. They are up to date on Vaccinations, Microchipped and will be neutered on July 17th and can leave for adoption the weekend of the July 20 & 21. You can put down a deposit of $50 each to hold them until adoption day. We will not hold any puppy without a deposit.  The adoption fee for both is $595.00. We will not separate them.      ##2098608##

Story
Take a peek at these blond beauties!!! They have the sweetest eyes and pretty pick piggy noses. These girls are just a bundle of bouncing happiness. They are learning what it is like to be cuddled and think they like it so far. They just got into their foster home located in Memphis, Tennessee and were a little shy to begin with but that is getting less and less daily (practically hourly). They love to romp and play with each other and are very curious about the adult dogs in the home. These two are catching on to the good life fast and seem to be quick learners. They also have a brother Sam in the rescue who looks just like them if someone is interested in a male. Once adopted they will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to their new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make either one of these cuties part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
