Story

We have four male Purebred Golden Retriever puppies available for adoption. These puppies came to us at 6 weeks old after their breeder was no longer able to care for the litter. They were already fully weaned, eating well on their own, and have been thriving in their foster home with plenty of socialization, routine, and gentle handling. Their mother developed mastitis, so although the puppies were already weaned, she could not safely be near them during recovery.
These boys have the classic Golden Retriever temperament everyone loves — soft, sweet, submissive, and eager to please. They adore being close to their people, soaking up affection, and following you around with their gentle, wiggly enthusiasm. Their parents are 65 and 70 lbs; the mother is golden, and the father is red.
We are not a shelter — all puppies are raised in loving foster homes.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS• A fencedin backyard is required (no invisible fences). Condo applicants without fencing due to HOA rules may be considered for leashwalking on a casebycase basis.• An adult must be home more during the day to devote time to a young puppy.• Children in the home must be 8 years or older.• Homes with no dogs or one dog will be considered (no multidog households). A meetandgreet may be required with your dog.• You agree to use a puppy pen, not a crate. Approved applicants will receive information on recommended pens.• Applicants must live in Indiana or neighboring states. We do not transport or ship puppies.
APPLICATION PROCESS• Applications are not approved on a firstcome, firstserved basis.• If your application appears to be a good fit, we will email you requesting additional information.• We will hold your application for 24 hours while we wait for the requested information. Communication is essential; if we do not hear back, we will move on to the next application.• Please check your email at least once per day after applying.• Once all requested information is received, your application will move forward in the approval process.• After approval, a $50 deposit is required to reserve your puppy.• If you attend your adoption appointment but choose not to adopt, your deposit will be refunded.
ADOPTION TIMELINE• No separate meetandgreets will be conducted. Adoption Day serves as both your meetandgreet and adoption.• Adoption appointments will be held May 30 & 31 in Crown Point, Indiana. Puppies will be 8 1/2 weeks old at time of adoption• Adoption fee: $500• Through our rescue’s partnership with MetLife, adopters receive a specialrate pet insurance quote during the Petstablished adoption process.
PUPPY HEALTH & POLICY• Puppies have been examined by our veterinarian.• They are receiving regular deworming, ageappropriate vaccinations, flea and heartworm prevention, and will be microchipped before adoption.• Puppies will not be spayed/neutered before adoption.• Early spay/neuter in Golden Retrievers can increase the risk of joint and hip issues. Adopters must sign a binding spay/neuter agreement and submit a $75 deposit, refunded once proof of the procedure is provided within the timeframe outlined in your adoption contract.• Applicants must attend the adoption appointment in person, provide ID, and sign an Adoption Contract stating they will not rehome the puppy.
