Story
Our boy Bash may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, it is GAME ON! He will play with you, your dog, everyone. He is a 68-pound Golden Retriever - Poodle mix, fully grown at 1 year, 8 months of age, with a medium length brown coat.Bash is energetic, a bit goofy, and just loves everyone. Affectionate to the core, he gives his version of hugs (laying his head on you and staring deep into your soul), follows you around like a lovesick fluffball, and has mastered the classic sweet eyes technique. Bash is house trained and crate trained, and is working hard on mastering his loose leash walking skills. He is very comfortable around children and other dogs. His take on cats is unknown.Bash will thrive in an active home that is dedicated to providing plenty of training, exercise, socialization and tons of affection. Impressed by Bash? Then you better act now – he could be gone in a flash. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Bash is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.November 24, 2025, 5:42 am

Story
Bailey is a 2 yr old golden retriever mix, around 48lbs. Bailey is a happy go lucky boy who has the cutest ears and smile, and a sweet personality. He is on the smaller side of a medium dog and loves attention. He is incredibly smart and learns tricks and commands with just a few repetitions. He knows how to sit and shake and goes to his room (kennel) when asked. He loves to play with dogs or people and takes treats very gently. Once he’s done playing, he loves to cuddle and hang out on the couch. He would love a home with a backyard and another dog to play with (but the more the merrier!). His right paw has a slight limp due to an old injury, but he doesn’t let it slow him down! He chases cats in his foster home, so a dog-savvy cat if any, would be best. He is great with the toddler in his foster home, but he does jump when he gets excited, so older kids would be better. Bailey is housebroken and good on leash – the perfect dog for your family! All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kenneled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel.

Story
Meet RUBY SUE! RUBY is a lively 4-month-old sweetheart with a whole lot of sparkle in her step! This girl is full of playful energy and absolutely adores her toys especially anything she can chase. Fetch is her love language, and she’ll happily entertain herself, but her favorite thing in the world is getting your attention. RUBY is a social butterfly who does great with people of all ages. She can get a little bouncy around young kids, but she responds quickly to redirection and is showing just how trainable she is. She already knows some basic commands and beams with pride when she gets it right (especially if treats are involved). During the day, she loves to romp and play… and once the fun winds down, she’s happiest cuddled up with her doggy buddy at night. RUBY is also a total water baby she LOVES splashing in the pool and will jump right in if you let her. The best part? She’s not a big barker at all. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate pup who brings joy and enthusiasm everywhere she goes, RUBY might just be your girl.

Story
Meet HUNTER! HUNTER is a handsome 4-month-old heartthrob who’s equal parts playful and snuggly. This sweet boy has the looks, the charm, and the personality to match he loves to play, but at his core, he’s a total lover. HUNTER gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets. Like most puppies his age, he can get a little excited around small children, but he listens well and is eager to follow your lead. He already knows some basic commands and is extremely food-motivated, proudly waiting for his treat the moment he finishes a task like the good boy he is. He spends his days wrestling and running around with his doggy playmate and winds down by curling up for nighttime cuddles. HUNTER is also a big fan of water put him near a pool and he’ll happily splash the day away. With his gentle nature, eager-to-please attitude, and affectionate spirit, HUNTER is ready to be someone’s very best friend. He’s the perfect mix of fun, sweetness, and puppy charm.

Meet ZEB, ZACH, AGATHA & CLARA more playful pups part of the Halloween litter! These four cuties got a rough start to life, but you’d never know it now! A kind Good Samaritan found their emaciated mama and her ten newborn puppies with no food, water, or shelter. With help from a loving foster, A Lab for Life stepped in — and this little family began to thrive. ZEB, ZACH, AGATHA and CLARA have grown into happy, social, affectionate pups who adore both people and other animals. They’ve been raised around big and small dogs, a cat, and humans of all ages, so they’re wonderfully well-rounded. They love romping outdoors, chasing toys, and wrestling with each other, but they’re just as happy curling up for a cozy nap in your lap. These pups bring endless joy wherever they go.
