Hi! I’m Teka, and I’m SO excited to tell you about myself! If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say: goofy, rambunctious, and full of life! Okay, that last one wasn’t really one word—but hey, I’m a dog, not an English major! All I’m trying to say is that I LOVE running around and being as wiggly as possible. Zoomies are one of my favorite activities! After I burn off some energy, I’m happy to settle in for a cuddle and soak up all the love. I’m a big fan of toys—maybe a little too big of a fan. I like to destroy them and sometimes try to eat the pieces, so durable toys and hard bones are the way to go for me. I’m great at entertaining myself once I’ve got something sturdy to chew on! People are another one of my favorite things. I love attention, pets, and snuggling with my human friends. I enjoy being the center of affection, but I can also share my space with energetic, dog-savvy dogs who match my playful style and understand my enthusiasm. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, wiggly girl who brings big energy, big laughs, and big cuddles, I might just be your perfect match. What do you think? I sound pretty amazing, right? Story
Wimbledon is a sweet, loving boy, who has severe separation anxiety when he has to be away from his people, such as in a crate. He is also highly food motivated, and by that I mean he will take food off of tables and countertops if it is left unguarded. He has never demonstrated any kind of aggression. He is happy to meet new people and is typically generally indifferent to other dogs. He has never been around cats, but has been around children his whole life. He may be intimidating to small children because he is large and gets very excited to be with people. He does have a heart condition that is well controlled with 25 mg of atenolol: half a tablet twice daily. I am not in a hurry to rehome him, but I am concerned for his continued long term health and safety given his behavior when left crated and constant food scavanging. He is 5 years old.
