Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He does have medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or a wild animal, they said no. He has been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl & lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!

Story
Pony Girl (so named for the Stay Golden Ponyboy line from The Outsiders) has had a very tough life so far. We thought things were improving. She's gained so much of her coat back, her infection was gone, she was playing and happy. She went to an amazing foster family and was doing great. Then the news all changed. She was diagnosed with cancer. Not a treatable cancer. She's on medication to make whatever time she has left happy and her foster family is dedicated to ensuring her last weeks/months will be full of happiness. If you want to meet or visit with her to show her some love please reach out to us. She loves car rides and does love people. She can be a little wary/shy at first, but does warm up to new people. She's been through so much in her life :( At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org

Story
This is my sweet boy Pepper. He is a puppy I fostered from a nearby shelter with my family, and have tried to integrate with our other rescues. He respects and doesn’t mess with our smaller dog, but Cody our larger dog who we rescued from an abuse situation is very nervous around him. Pepper tried to dominate him in every aspect of the day. It’s caused Cody to become even more nervous. We feel so incredibly sad and guilty about this decision, but Pepper deserves a larger property and someone who can give him more TASKS than we can. He loves to be trained. He’s extremely smart. He would love to work. He loves water and exploring, and he never runs away and listens to every command I give him. He came to us with issues of resource guarding, against people and other dogs. We started feeding him separately, but he has bitten my grandma and my younger brother in the past when they have come into the room to try and take his bowl. He really does have an amazing personality. He loves cuddles.
