🖤 “Looks are only skin deep.” 🖤 We’ve all heard that, and it’s absolutely true. But Chip has the looks AND the personality to boot! 😍 In fact, we aren’t sure which is more stunning. Chip is a 5-month-old Retriever mix. He is a handsome young man who has the most beautiful black, shimmery, wavy coat. Then add his pudgy little white nose 🤍 and it’s hard not to fall in love. He currently weighs about 45 pounds, and we estimate that he will reach around 60 pounds Chip is a fun guy and loves to play with other doggie friends. 🐕 The bigger the better, as he likes to play hard. He would do great with an adult dog sibling who will help him learn the ropes of good grown-dog manners, but it’s not a necessity. He loves to meet new people! 🥰 Little kiddos may not be best for him unless the adults are willing to set boundaries for both him and the little ones. He is an equal opportunity player when it comes to toys. 🧸 He loves them all and can entertain himself just fine with them. He loves to show them who is boss by throwing them around. You show those toys, Chip! Chip is house- and crate-trained ✅ If you would fancy a bed buddy, he is happy to accommodate you by sleeping at the foot of the bed. When you are away from home, he does just fine snoozing in his crate. Chip does well on leash and really looks forward to his daily “scrolls” through the neighborhood. This boy will bring so much life to your life. He is just a goofy guy and will constantly bring a smile to your face. Crawling up on the recliner or couch next to you at night as he winds down is absolutely wonderful. He lays his head on your lap and gives you loving glances here and there. 🥹 Chip is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $275. Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He does have medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or a wild animal, they said no. He has been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl & lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional.He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner.He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!
