All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. This sweet boy was a rescue maybe a year ago. He’s great with other dogs as he loves to play. He also loves to cuddle and run around. I was working on potty training and for the most part he’s getting it down. He just needs a little more training and a decent amount of room to run. I recently lost my mother and have to relocate for work so I’m not able to take him. He’s microchipped as I found out he likes to jump chain linked fences to play with other dogs walking by. He’s gentle for being a large dog as my daughter has a little dog and they play and friends with kids have been by and he’s a big teddy bear. I just want him to go to a good home where he can continue to get the love he deserves.

The Breed is I wild guess. Copper is a great dog, super sweet and loving. She is house trained She rides well in the car She is crate trained She is great with our 6 year old son She loves to be snuggled And throws herself on her back to get her belly scratched. She does not like other dogs initially and she is able to jump a 4ft fence. Ideal home would be out on a big property where she can run. And where there are no other dogs. We adopted her about 3 month ago We have dogs in both of our neighbors yards And they bark and jump trying to get at each other through our fence.

Helllo!!! My name is Katie. I am about 7 years old, 50-pound shepherd mix who spent most of my life on a chain. Now that I am free, I am eager to find my forever family. My age is uncertain, but everyone says I don't seem like an old dog! My foster has taken me so many fun places! I did the Easter Egg 5K, a wine event, Scheels and Rock and Brew. Everywhere I go I am a big hit! You know what they say, age is just a number! I adore people of all ages, both adults and children. Attention and cuddles are my favorites, and I promise I am only a stage-four clinger, not stage five! I also enjoy sharing little bites of food, with chicken being a particular favorite. Occasionally, I can be selective and may not always want dog treats. I am still learning to relax and embrace being a playful dog. While I sometimes chew on bones or toys, I mostly prefer to stay close to you and soak up all the cuddles, making up for lost time. I am a well-behaved girl and can spend the day alone without any trouble. When you return home, I will greet you with great excitement. My interactions with other dogs vary, as I like some but not others. On walks, I may want to chase prey animals, so please hold my leash securely. Could we be a match? Could you be my family? Story
Rudy has been our family dog for the last five years, since he was a puppy. We love him dearly but unfortunately, he has recently been not getting along with one of our other dogs and we have to make the impossible choice to find him another home. It is breaking our hearts to do this. His mom was a pure bred golden retriever and dad was mixed breed. Rudy has done obedience, agility, and showmanship training through 4H, with one of our sons, since he was a puppy. We have five kids, two cats, and he loves all people and has no issues with cats. He loves his kennel and sleeps there at night, loves to swim, has won grand champion in the 4H dog project many times. He would be best in an active family with room to run and with a female dog or no other dog as he can resource guard at times with other males. He loves the dog park. He has been around dogs in 4H shows and has minimal issues there, he just isn’t getting along with one of our dogs. He will only go to the right home for him.
