Story
Nala was given to me June 20. Previous owner lost medical records and was gone before they provided vet name. Not chipped. Not spayed, underweight. Basically living in a crate. Her previous situation was not good so she was rescued by owner's mother and given to me (with previous owner's consent). She's not housebroken, is crate trained. She's really smart, interactive. I was hoping to keep her, but at 77 with surgery scheduled, I cannot keep her. She walked right out of my fenced yard (horizontal wood boards) that holds my 100 lb lab, but not Nala. I live near a very busy road and a neighbor caught her just in time. I wish for her an active family who can appreciate such a snuggle bunny! She's going to make someone a wonderful pet.

Story
Gatsby is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever & Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as golden as his fur. Rescued just in time from a shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia, Gatsby's past is a mystery—but one thing is clear: he was once someone's beloved companion. His intelligence and well-mannered behavior suggest he received training from an early age. Gatsby is calm, gentle, and incredibly polite. He knows basic commands like sit, shake, and wait and patiently sits for treats without a fuss. He’s not much of a barker and remains composed even in new environments or around strangers. He adores human affection and will melt into your touch, always ready to soak up love and cuddles. While Gatsby is sweet with people, he's more of a solo explorer when it comes to other dogs. He prefers his own company over rowdy playtime and would thrive as the only dog in a home. If another pup challenges him, he may react, so a peaceful, single-dog household would be best for him. This handsome gentleman walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is ready to settle into home life. He may take a little time to adjust to new surroundings, but with patience and love, he will blossom into the loyal, graceful companion he was meant to be. If you understand the loving, devoted nature of Retrievers and are ready to give Gatsby the forever home he deserves, he’ll repay you with endless affection and unwavering loyalty. Gatsby is waiting for a family to love him forever—could it be you?

Story
Lovely Mira, a sweet and active adult retriever mix with a soft tan coat and a heart full of love. Weighing around 70 pounds, Mira is the perfect blend of strength and gentleness. She absolutely adores Fattention, often stopping during her walks to soak up pets and affection from our Saving Grace volunteers. With her friendly energy and loving nature, Mira would thrive in a home where she can be part of the action—whether it's a morning walk, a backyard game of fetch, or simply snuggling up after a fun day. Mira is ready for a forever home where she can share her warmth, loyalty, and joyful spirit. Make an appointment to see her today! Recent Weekend Host Feedback: "Mira is a super sweet dog. She has a very calm and gentle disposition. She was great with our kids (ages 8 and 11). She was relaxed in the car. She was excellent on the leash, and could easily be walked by our younger child without any concern of pulling. She greeted other dogs with a sniff, and did not react when encountering unfriendly or barking dogs. She walked past a cat without showing much interest. She didn't bark once all weekend. She was cooperative during a bath. She slept well in her crate. She had no accidents in the house. She was unbothered by thunder but a little scared of the vacuum. She ate her wet food but wasn't very interested in any of the treats we tried. She enjoyed cuddles and belly rubs, and seemed to enjoy the company of our family. "

She did great in the car and great in any store or cafe we went into. She knows to sit calmly when we are relaxing somewhere. She did great on walks around the neighborhood. She loves to follow you around in the house and always be close by. She loved playing with stuffies and nibbling on rubbery toys". Recent Weekend Host Feedback: "Coco is an absolute delight! She is smart, eager to please, and communicative which makes her very teachable. She already knows most of her basic commands like sit, come, down and off. Coco thrives with lots of stimulation. She is really good on a leash. She will gladly sit outside for long stretches with her nose in the air and ears perked letting all the sounds and smells go by. She loves all toys but ones that squeak are her favorites. She LOVES to play with other dogs and wrestled with our 7-year old shepherd mix all weekend. She’s very calm in the car. She knows to potty outside but she gets distracted easily and needs some reminding. Coco prefers a dog bed to her crate. An added bonus - Coco loves to unwind with snuggles. She likes to lay in your lap, the more of her that’s touching you the better! Coco will make a fabulous addition to a very lucky family!"

Great in her crate, keeps it clean, knows how to act in public and gets along with everyone people and dogs alike. She is active and can keep up on hikes and isn't afraid of a dip in the water to cool off. Samantha is a people gal and would not be a good match for a family with cats. She’s a sweet and friendly girl who was so excited for her hike. She was great about staying on course and was easily redirected when needed. She dodged puddles on the trail like a pro but enjoyed a dip in the steam to cool off. Samantha was friendly with the other dogs but was happy to walk independently. She wasn’t reactive to cars, dogs, or people. Samantha would make a great adventure buddy"! *Weekend Host feedback: "We took her to different places and she was very good everywhere. She loved getting pets and people watching. Cars, other dogs, people, nothing seemed to affect her. We took her to multiple parks and trails and she was happy to sniff around. She seemed to really enjoy our adventures". *Additional Host feedback: " Energetic-loves going on walks*Tolerated grooming well*Takes treats gently*Doesn’t beg/try to steal people food.*Loves affection & scratches*Loves the comfort of couches and beds*She loves people". "I could picture her doing really well with having a buddy to play with and especially having a yard. She really is the sweetest girl and I hope she finds a great home soon"! *Additional Host Feedback: "Samantha is great with people and seems very social. She is great at leash walking and loves her walks. She went to a few trails over the weekend and sometimes needs redirecting, but once you ask her, she listens so well. She is just happy to be by your side and is so sweet. She is great in the car. Samantha's is potty trained and I did let her out quite a bit when she was here as well as for walks. But, she will let you know if she needs to go, so that wasn't an issue when she was here. She adjusted well for sleeping at night and didn't seem to have a problem sleeping after she settled in on the first night. Samantha is the sweetest dog."
