Meet Amity! 🐾
Amity is a 5-year-old, 33-pound Mini Goldendoodle who is learning what life is like outside of a puppy mill.
Rescued from an Amish puppy mill where she was used for breeding, Amity is understandably unsure in new situations. With patience and consistency from her foster family, she is making steady progress and becoming more comfortable every day.
Amity can be hesitant when meeting someone new, but give her a little time and a few gentle sniffs, and you’ll start to see that tail wag! Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality comes out. And if you really want to win her over, tennis balls and cheese are a great place to start! 🎾🧀
Amity loves being outside and enjoys exploring the yard at her own pace. She is not quite ready for leash walks, so a physically fenced yard is required. Having a secure place to explore will allow her to continue building confidence without pushing her beyond what she’s ready for.
She is very attached to her foster mom and likes to stay close to her people. As she continues to gain confidence, she is learning that her people are there to keep her safe and that she can trust them.
Amity is also doing well with her crate. She goes in willingly but may whine a little if she knows her people are home but out of sight. She has steadily improved with this and is learning that being separated from her person for a short time is okay.
Amity has not had a potty accident in her foster home, although adopters should expect that any dog may need some adjustment and reinforcement when moving into a new environment.
Amity would do well as an only dog or with another dog who is similar in size and energy level. A compatible canine companion could be a nice addition, but she would also be perfectly happy being the center of attention.
Amity is looking for a patient adopter who will give her time to adjust, build trust, and continue making progress at her own pace. She has come a long way already, and with the right person, we expect her confidence to continue growing.
If you have a fenced yard, a little patience, and plenty of tennis balls and cheese, Amity might just be your girl! ❤️
Amity is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
