Story
Meet Duke!Duke is a gentle soul who’s ready to find his forever family. He’s very house-trained (though a quick refresher might help after shelter life) and loves enrichment activities that keep his mind and body engaged. While he’s not a fan of crates, a heavy-duty one is a must when he’s left alone to keep him safe and out of trouble. In his previous home, Duke was especially close with the family’s young child—he even used to sleep in bed with him at night. He thrives on companionship and is happiest when he’s close to his people. Duke does experience anxiety when left alone and during storms, and he`s currently on medication to help with that. He’ll do best in a calm, understanding home where he has support and routine as he settles in.To help him succeed, Duke should continue training sessions at home with his adopters. He responds well to positive reinforcement and loves working for treats, especially during training sessions that help him stay focused and engaged.Duke will need consistent, ongoing training and a patient, supportive environment. To ensure the best fit, we encourage you to bring your children and any current dogs when you come to meet him.Come meet Duke today at SPCA Cincinnati! He’s ready to charm his way into your heart and home—with a little structure, a lot of love, and the right person by his side. Story
Meet Nae! Nae is a 6-year-old, 40-pound Mini Goldendoodle with a gentle spirit and a resilient heart. She spent the first years of her life in an Amish puppy mill, used for breeding and denied the love and care every dog deserves. Understandably, Nae is still learning what it truly means to be a pet, but she's making steady progress with the patient support of her foster family. While she may be timid at first, Nae is blossoming more each day. She loves spending time outside and enjoys exploring the yard, even if she’s not quite ready for leash walks yet. Because of this, a physically fenced yard is required to help her feel safe as she continues to adjust to life outside the mill. Nae feels most secure around other dogs—especially confident, well-adjusted companions who can help guide her and show her the ropes of home life. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can continue to gain trust and confidence in a safe, predictable environment. She is crate-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and is making great progress with potty training. More than anything, she needs a patient and loving adopter who understands that healing takes time. With your kindness and care, Nae will continue to grow into the affectionate, loyal companion she was always meant to be. Are you the one who can give Nae the forever home she’s been waiting for? Nae is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Sweet Olivia, a 6.5-year-old, 25 pound mini goldendoodle who is learning very quickly how to accept love, pets, and being able to run freely in a fenced yard. Olivia is crate trained - never leaves a mess and sleeps all night. She is doing well walking on a leash in the back yard. She has not been introduced to the neighborhood yet as she is recovering from her spay surgery. With time and patience she is sure to be a great walking partner. While exploring the backyard, new smells and squirrels get her attention. She has also started playing with toys! Olivia has a “loving mother” personality and we are already starting to see smiles and a playful side…and a tail that doesn’t stop wagging. Due to her past as a puppy mill momma, Olivia had to be shaved down, but it is her new start in a new life. This lady deserves to be pampered and would like nothing more than baths & brushes when her new hair comes in. She wouldn’t mind being told what a pretty girl she is either! With a little love, patience, and understanding of the life she left behind, Olivia is certain to be a piece of sunshine that you didn’t know you were missing! Olivia is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Baylin – a 6-year-old Golden Doodle weighing 55 pounds who has overcome so much and is now ready to find her forever home! Baylin was rescued from a challenging past of living in an Amish Puppy Mill, where she lived in a kennel and had little human contact. Despite this, she is blossoming in her foster home and showing her true, loving nature. Baylin enjoys lounging on the cool tile floor and loves the company of other dogs, especially her fellow foster sibling, a Mini Poodle. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. Baylin is becoming the master of potty training—as long as she has a fenced-in yard where she can freely use the restroom off-leash. One of Baylin’s favorite things is receiving gentle head scratches, which help her build confidence and trust. She is a sweet, calm girl who would do best with a patient person willing to continue helping her adjust to life outside of her past experience. If you’re looking for a loving dog who just needs a little extra care and understanding, Baylin could be the perfect fit. With patience and time, she’ll make a wonderful, loyal companion. Would you be the one to offer Baylin the love and stability she deserves? Baylin is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, and her adoption fee is $450. Story
"Faith- the hope for blessings to arrive" - Hi y’all, I’m Faith. I am the epitome of faith!! I have been looking for the right family for awhile now ;( But since I am with the rescue...IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN FOR ME :) See why they named me Faith??? OK, more about me... I am an energetic girl, REALLY energetic!!! I love being outside, running and playing an soaking up all the love I can get!. I’m still learning commands, however I’ll learn for some treats. I love playing with toys, but I’m still learning how to bring them back, I mean, you DID GIVE IT TO ME, RIGHT??? I enjoy getting brushed and giving kisses. I like other dogs and I’m always looking for friends to play with. I’m pretty awesome, because I am crate trained, house broken and enjoy kids. I forget that I am a bit energetic and like to jump when meeting new people- my foster mom is working on my manners, but hey- who doesn't love the enthusiasm from someone who loves you so much?? I’d prefer to have a yard, but as long as you take me to the dog park, I can live in an apartment. Hoping to find my forever home real soon!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
