🌟 Meet Norabel — A Sweet Shepherd Mix Norabel is the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. This lovely 3-year-old Golden/Shepherd mix weighs 45 pounds and has soft eyes, a gentle heart, and a sweet, happy presence that makes a home feel warmer the moment she walks in. She is healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the people who will adore her for the wonderful girl she is. In her foster home, Norabel has been an absolute delight. She is fully house trained, walks beautifully on leash, respects the home, and has no interest in chewing things she shouldn’t — which means your shoes can breathe a sigh of relief. She gets along well with other dogs and is wonderfully polite with cats, giving them space like the classy lady she is. Norabel is loving, patient, and quietly joyful. Once she knows she is safe and loved, her affectionate side shines in the sweetest ways. She is the kind of dog who will happily join you for walks, keep you company around the house, and settle in nearby like she has always belonged there. Norabel needs another friendly dog in the home to help her feel confident and to be her built-in bestie. She is a wonderful companion for a family who wants a gentle, sweet, easy-to-love dog with just the right amount of charm, softness, and sparkle. Applicants must live in Ontario within 3 hours of Toronto. Story
🌟 Meet Puffy — A Golden Retriever Mix with a Heart Full of Sunshine Puffy is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix who weighs about 40 pounds and has the kind of gentle, happy spirit that makes people smile right away. He is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his shots, and he is ready to bring love, warmth, and joy into a lucky family’s life. This handsome boy is wonderfully social and easy to love. Puffy does well with dogs, cats, and children, making him a lovely fit for many homes. He enjoys being included in everyday life, whether that means joining you for a walk, spending time outside, riding along on family errands, or settling nearby while everyone relaxes. Puffy has a soft, loving nature and a cheerful way of making ordinary moments feel special. Picture him greeting you with a happy face, trotting beside you on neighborhood walks, enjoying a sunny afternoon in the yard, and then curling up contentedly at home. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but what Puffy wants most is a family to love and a place where he can be part of the daily rhythm of home. Puffy is doing great in his foster home in the GTA and is ready for his forever family. We are looking for a home in Ontario within about 3 hours of Toronto. If you would like to meet this sweet Golden Retriever mix and learn more about our foster-to-adopt program, please email c4ptoronto@gmail.com and ask about Puffy. 💛

Story
Meet Namu   Name: Namu Age: 9 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Golden Retriever Color: Golden Weight: 24.5 kg Height: 57 cm (at the shoulder)   Rescue Story   Namu was captured after reports from the public and entered a municipal shelter before being rescued in March 2025.   A registered microchip was found, but unfortunately his previous owner could not be reached. During his medical evaluation, Namu was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and underwent surgery on his left hind leg. He also suffers from chronic dry eye (KCS), which has required ongoing treatment and management.   Since moving into foster care in February 2026, Namu has participated in both professional canine fitness and home rehabilitation programs to rebuild muscle mass and improve his overall strength and mobility. More recently, a benign sebaceous cyst on his chest was surgically removed and has healed well.   Despite everything he has been through, Namu remains one of the sweetest and happiest dogs you could ever meet.   ‍‍‍ People   Namu is the definition of a Golden Retriever. He absolutely adores people and believes everyone is his friend.   He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, leans in for affection, and enjoys being petted. He loves both men and women and has done well with children under 13 years old.   He can be picked up by supporting him under his belly and will even roll over to show his belly to people he has just met.   Dogs   Namu enjoys greeting other dogs during walks and would happily say hello to every dog he sees.   However, he is more of a social greeter than a playmate. He generally prefers relaxing on his own rather than actively playing with other dogs.   He coexists well with other dogs but can become annoyed if they bother him while he is resting. Like many senior dogs, he values his nap time and prefers not to be disturbed while sleeping.   Cats   When he sees cats on walks, Namu is curious and will watch them, but he follows his handler’s guidance and moves along without issue.   Cat testing can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Inside the home, Namu is calm, relaxed, and enjoys spending much of his day napping.   Outside is a different story—he absolutely loves walks and gets excited enough to do a little happy wiggle dance before heading out.   He currently enjoys at least two longer walks per day plus additional potty outings. As long as his exercise needs are met, he is very quiet and well-behaved indoors.   Walking   Namu walks beautifully on leash and is suitable even for first-time dog owners.   He does not pull and generally stays beside his handler. When he gets especially excited, he may speed up a little and weave from side to side, but he remains very manageable.   Other Notes   Fully house-trained (outdoor potty only) Rides quietly in a kennel/crate Jumps into and out of the car independently No separation anxiety May bark at delivery people, knocking sounds, or unexpected visitors Food-motivated and enjoys treats Does not guard food from people, but may growl if another dog approaches while he is eating Can be a little dramatic and somewhat sensitive at times   Namu’s left hind leg has improved significantly through rehabilitation and fitness training. While he once avoided using the surgical leg, he has gained substantial strength and muscle mass through ongoing exercise and conditioning.   Namu also has chronic dry eye (KCS), which requires lifelong management. He currently receives eye drops at least four times daily. If the frequency is reduced, he becomes noticeably uncomfortable. Seasonal allergies and pollen can also make his eyes more sensitive, so adopters should be prepared to continue his eye care routine.   Namu’s Ideal Home   Namu is looking for a family who appreciates everything that makes senior dogs special—a gentle soul, a loving heart, and a lifetime of gratitude.   He may need daily eye care and continued monitoring of his mobility, but in return you’ll get a loyal Golden Retriever who loves people, enjoys his walks, and is happiest simply being near those he loves.   If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who still lights up at the mention of a walk, Namu may be your perfect match.   Follow Namu’s foster journey: @its_namoo__ Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
🐾 Meet Max — Professional Cuddle Buddy, Walking Partner, and Full-Time Good Boy Max is a 4-year-old sweetheart with kind eyes, beautiful manners, and a personality that says, “Yes, I would absolutely like to be included in whatever you are doing.” At about 40 pounds, he is the perfect size for neighborhood strolls, couch-adjacent lounging, snack supervision, and making your home feel instantly warmer. Max is house trained, walks beautifully on leash, and settles happily into a routine. Basically, he already understands the important household rules: walks are wonderful, naps are necessary, and being near his people is the best part of the day. One of Max’s favorite things in the world is other dogs. He loves canine companionship, especially smaller dog friends, and has a happy, relaxed way about him when he has buddies nearby. If your dog has been interviewing for a new best friend, Max would like to submit his application. With people, Max is loving, loyal, and deeply affectionate. He is the kind of dog who makes ordinary moments better: morning coffee with Max nearby, evening walks with Max trotting beside you, movie nights with Max settling in like he has always been part of the family. He does not need a spotlight — though he would not object to applause — he just wants to be loved and included. Max is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines, and ready to begin his next great role: beloved family member, loyal sidekick, and official greeter of everyone who walks through the door. Picture life with Max: a happy tail when you come home, a steady companion on walks, a polite gentleman in the house, and a soft-hearted friend who makes every day feel a little brighter. He brings calm, kindness, and just the right amount of adorable dog comedy. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, walking partner, best friend, and four-legged life enhancer, Max may be your guy. Story
Farrah | 8 years old | 53 lbs | Corgi mix? | Dog, cat, people friendly! Farrah is happiness on four legs. She has the best and sweetest personality and lights up a room! She has a cheerful, go-with-the-flow attitude, and settled immediately into her foster home. She's very affectionate and will cuddle with anyone who is offering. It seriously can't be overstated how bright, sunshiney, and loving Farrah is. She's also such a good girl. She walks beautifully on leash and always turns to check in with you, she has no separation anxiety or resource guarding, and she's fully housetrained, and responds well to corrections. She's got a very balanced energy level, enjoying both activity and downtime. She loves to spend time outside and play with toys and walks are a highlight of her day. Farrah is currently living with a dog and a cat and is respectful and friendly with both. She loves all people and while she hasn't been around kids, she would likely do well in a home with them. The person who adopts this golden girl will be so lucky. She's very special and so full of love and joy. She will also settle into your life like she's been there the whole time, and you'll wonder what life was even like before her.
